Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinates with the Director of Plant Operations and General Manager to implement all standard operating procedures (SOPs) in relation to state regulations and CCC compliance for both the dispensary and production facilities.
- Remains abreast of relevant industry-related and state-mandated laws and regulations, analyze their impact and make recommendations to operations and management.
- Develops collaborative relationships with MA CCC representatives and regulators.
- Identifies potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk; develops/implements corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues and provides general guidance on how to avoid or deal with similar situations in the future. This includes providing guidance to management on implementing policy and/or process changes to comply with new and/or changes to regulations.
- Collaborates with others in operations to develop policies, procedures and communications encouraging employees to report violation of company policies and/or government regulations such as, potential selection of third-party vendor(s).
- Leads internal audits to ensure compliance and minimize risks.
- Collaborates with Security Manager, Dispensary Manager, and Director of Plant Operations to identify risks, ensure compliance to OSHA regulations and ensure loss prevention methods comply with privacy and other applicable laws. This includes working with the Acreage Corporate Compliance Team to implement training programs to ensure compliance.
- Oversee the administration, maintenance, and accuracy of all required reports, documentation and equipment.
- Oversees any recall and/or health/public safety issues. This includes reporting to government agencies, developing communication to dispensaries and/or consumers, working with the management team to develop a corrective plan.
- Respond to management inquires and requests and resolve issues in a timely, friendly and efficient manner.
- Coordinate the security and logistics protocols surrounding the logistics and successful delivery of product.
- Evaluates participation in community events and other marketing efforts for risks. Also ensures marketing activities comply with federal and/or state regulations.
- Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in compliance, regulatory affairs and/or risk management.
- Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred
- Experience in cannabis industry strongly preferred.
Additional Qualifications:
- Work history showing progressive responsibility, willingness to accept additional projects and challenges
- Excellent time-management skills; ability to effectively plan and prioritize
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions and develop solutions. Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Proficiency in using word processing software; spreadsheet software; and e-mail systems. Knowledge of the Internet and client relationship management software is also required. Must have knowledge of accounting, inventory management, and manufacturing software.
- Must have excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, strong project management skills, the ability to maintain confidentiality; the ability to work independently and in a team environment; and knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations in the cannabis industry strongly preferred.
