Job Title: Full Charge Bookkeeper/ Accounting Manager
Multi-location Cannabis Retailer
General Description: We are a growing recreational cannabis retailer seeking an Full Charge Bookkeeper/Accounting Manager to join our team. We have four locations, approximately 65 employees, and are actively looking for a fifth location. In addition, this role would also cover a small gas station/ minimart. We are seeking a versatile person with full charge bookkeeping and accounting management experience, ideally in retail operations. This position is responsible for all payroll, tax payment, accounts receivable, and accounts payable activities (further described below) as well as the management of two accounting support staff. Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail is a must, along with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Candidate must be comfortable with the legal Cannabis industry.
*Roles & Responsibilities: *
* maintaining all books through the preparation of financial statements
* recording assets, leases, and expenditures
* performing monthly bank reconciliation
* managing payroll and timecards of all employees
* filing federal and state payroll tax returns and computing related deposits
* managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, daily deposits, bank statement reconciliation, journal entries, financial statements, income and expense projections, and general cash management
* reviewing and analyzing finances to ensure accuracy; investigating and identifying variances and suspicious activity in all accounts
* monitoring compliance with regulatory requirements
* processing vendor invoices to ensure accuracy
* developing of accounting policies and procedures
* processing time sensitive data in accordance with deadlines
* maintaining knowledge of small business & cannabis tax requirements
* working directly with outside CPA to prepare all necessary documents
*Requirements: *
*Experience: *
Minimum 3 - 5 years of experience in a similar role with comparable or relatable responsibilities.
*Education: *
A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Business Management and/or
Mathematics is preferred.
*Other Skills: *
Proficiency with QuickBooks & Excel. Must be comfortable using third party applications and websites.
*Work Status: *
Full Time (40 hrs per week). Negotiable.
*Hours &* *Location: *
Monday - Friday; 9 am - 5 pm; Will work out of Seattle offices (Tangletown/ Greenlake).
*Compensation* :
Depends on experience and education. Competitive
*Travel: *
Position may involve (but not require) limited traveling to retail store locations in Skagit and Whatcom and King counties.
*Supervisor: *
This position reports to the owners and works in conjunction with the Operations Manager.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
