Job Summary:
The VP of Operations is a critical member of the Verdes Senior Leadership team. This position is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating the development and manufacture of all products made at Verdes. The VP of Operations must demonstrate a keen understanding of how the overall company (and vertically integrated manufacturing) operates and make strategic decisions and recommendations accordingly. It is imperative for the VP of Operations demonstrate a clear sense of ownership and pride around all aspects of production operations. With expanded distribution channels, Verdes will need to continuously produce more material to meet consumer demand. Therefore, it is essential that the VP of Operations ensures that Verdes uses the most efficient, effective, and economically viable methods to produce our products.

Responsibilities/EssentialFunctions:
ProductAvailability
- Oversight of the day-to-day production in a compliant manner that meets demand
- Ensuring that concepts/products get to market expediently
- Lead process improvement
- Maximize production capacity for all production facilities
- Monthly and Quarterly production goals
- Strong Project Management capabilities that encompass product and staff
HighFunctioningStaff
- Oversight of a well-developed management team consisting of 3 department heads, 2 specialists and up to 25 indirect reports
- Development of strong, collaborative leaders that demonstrate the proper level of ownership and pride in their departments
- Responsible for ensuring teams deliver on their goals
- Ensure that the entire production staff has a strong sense of engagement and passion for the cannabis industry, Verdes, and our clients.
- Build and carry out a succession plan for hiring, training and ongoing development and engagement of all staff
- Utilize retention rates, promotions and staff performance, employee satisfaction, financial goals, and customer feedback as metrics for staff function/development
StrongFinancialControls
- Deliver top and bottom-line financial goals as set forth by ownership
- Identify opportunities to optimize Verdes’ financial situation
- Evaluate production processes
- Provide thought leadership in relation to an innovation plan
- Identify the strengths/weaknesses of the company regarding loss of money, product, labor and subsequently develop a plan to address issues
- Provide recommendations regarding efficiency to include automation and resources
BuildingtheVerdesBrand
- Work closely with the Marketing Team to build a strong, competitively insulated brand
- Ensure flawless execution of critical brand building initiatives through product availability, ingredient selection, packaging initiatives and timeliness to market

Computer/TechnicalResponsibilities:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Expert in data analytics, trending and forecasting
- LeafLogix and/or similar software, BI Tools
QualificationsandEducationalRequirements:
- Minimum of five years management experience, preferably at the Director level or above
- Minimum of seven years of operations experience
- Minimum of five years manufacturing experience
- Bachelor’s degree and/or MBA; preferred or equivalent experience
- Experience working in a highly regulated field
- Excellent managerial and supervisory skills
- Extensive knowledge of operations and production management
- Ability to interpret financial data as needed to set production goals
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills including active listening, diplomacy/tact, verbal, written
PhysicalandEmotionalRequirements:
- Must be able to sit for extended periods of time and transition from sitting to standing several times per day
- Must be able to bend/stoop/climb/reach
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs, unassisted
- Must be able to present complex information to groups of people
- Must be able to be physically present in all production areas and administrative office
- Must be able to tolerate a reasonable amount of work stress
Compensation/Hours:
- Compensation -DOE; 45+ hours/wk., Required Mon – Fri, some weekends and holidays, ~8:00am to ~5:00pm depending on business needs
