Role:
The Bank Secrecy Act Analyst is responsible for assisting with the administration and maintenance of all aspects of the Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering Compliance Program which will be designed to ensure a high level of compliance with the BSA/AML related laws and regulations, internal policies and procedures and Federal regulatory expectations and reduce exposure to compliance (regulatory) risk e.g. reputation, financial losses, as well as civil and criminal penalties. The position of Bank Secrecy Act Analyst is required to be fully knowledgeable and skilled in all areas of BSA/AML Compliance and be able to independently recognize, develop, and implement cost effective compliance related solutions for the BSA/AML program, including a Member Due Diligence program (MDD), to ensure adequate and effective BSA Compliance.

Monitor transactions and perform in-depth analysis of activity, including member and account level research on a wide variety of data, to detect and determine suspicious and/or illegal activity.

Establish and maintain appropriate SAR investigation, review and reporting processes that promote consistent decisions, adequate investigation and research, and complete and detailed documentation.

Ensure Member Due Diligence Program (MDD) is followed in order to ensure compliance with applicable laws, and to ensure the Credit Union has accurate risk scoring of members and accounts. Works to ensure exceptions are resolved. Works with BSA Officer and other staff members to ensure proper entity documents are obtained as part of the MDD and appropriate beneficial ownership is documented. Monitor and review day-to-day transactions related to cannabis business accounts.

Responsible for ensuring all required regulatory reporting is conducted in a timely, accurate and compliant manner, including the filing of Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs) and Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) to FinCEN, as well as FinCEN 314(a) and 314(b) procedures and reporting.

Along with the BSA Officer, act as liaison/contact for National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) examinations and internal and external independent reviews or audits of the BSA/AML/OFAC Programs.

Review daily OFAC reports and certify hits as they come in. Ensure that no accounts are opened within the Credit Union for persons, entities, or countries appearing on the OFAC lists.

Performance Measurements:
1.
Perform all responsibilities in accordance with True Sky FCU Competencies and Information Protection requirements.
2.
Collect and review corporate records, ownership information, ongoing financial statements, and business licenses as needed.
3.
Review and monitor state licensing requirements for various account types.
4.
Monitor and review day-to-day transactions and work alerts and cases in the BSA/AML software related to member, business, and cannabis business accounts.
5.
Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and complete documentation of internal monitoring review(s).
6.
Provide monitoring reports to BSA Officer as necessary.
7.
Monitor cash transactions and complete the filing of Currency Transaction Reports as required.
8.
Conduct high-risk account reviews, which may include trending various transaction types.

Responsible for assisting the BSA Officer in all areas related to Bank Secrecy Act including but not limited to: CTR and SAR filings, high-risk account reviews, MSB reviews, CTR exemptions, CIP, OFAC, Beneficial Ownership, etc. for member businesses and Cannabis related businesses.

Notify BSA Officer of activity requiring the filing of Suspicious Activity Reports.
11.
Operates computer terminal office machinery to review account activity including deposits and withdrawals, determine balances, and resolve problems within given authority, image documents, etc.

Provides an effective and professional member experience and assists in resolving problems within given authority.
13.
To stay current and comply with all federal and state regulations including Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Office of Foreign Assets Control ("OFAC") and all credit union policies and procedures.
Knowledge and Skills:
Experience
Three years to five years of similar or related experience.
Education
A high school education or GED.
Interpersonal Skills
Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.

10 Previous experience managing High Risk BSA/AML programs & experience with MSB’s.

speak clearly to customers and employees
12. Verafin software experience preferred
