Cannabis Law Firm Seeking a Land use/Zoning Associate Attorney
If you are an experienced land use/zoning attorney looking for a new challenge and are interested in working in the burgeoning Massachusetts cannabis industry, then this posting may be for you! The Mensing Group LLC is Massachusetts’ first, and only, homegrown law firm exclusively dedicated to representing cannabis businesses seeking to open and operate an adult-use or medical cannabis establishment. Focusing on local permitting and state licensure, The Mensing Group LLC is seeking applications from qualified attorneys with 2-5 years of direct experience for a position focusing primarily on land use and zoning matters.
Special permits, often including a site plan review, amongst other local permits are typically one of the first steps a cannabis business has to take in order to receive licensure from the Cannabis Control Commission. The Associate may also be tasked with assisting with the required community outreach meeting, negotiating the host community agreement, and drafting standard operating procedures to support the state application. The Mensing Group LLC is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate in employment on the basis of race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy and gender identity), national origin, political affiliation, sexual orientation, marital status, disability, genetic information, age, membership in an employee organization, retaliation, parental status, military service, or other non-merit factor. We are a fast-paced, growing firm, and there is a unique opportunity to advance quickly if you come to the table with the requisite land use/zoning skills and a solid knowledge base on all things cannabis.
Remote work with flexible hours. Compensation to be commensurate with experience.
2-5 years of land use/zoning permitting experience as an attorney is required. Experience appearing before municipal boards, while not required, will be especially beneficial for the Associate position. Applicants to provide CV and a legal writing sample. Please note that because of the volume of applications we are expecting, you will only hear back if you are selected for an interview.

- Client-service orientation and skill-set
- A relentlessly friendly individual with a sense of humor will succeed in this position
