Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Dispensary General Manager, Assistant Manager will oversee the operation of the Territory Dispensary. Assumes full management responsibility in the absence of the General Manager. This person will work to improve dispensary sales, profitability, and image through customer service, protection of store assets, and supervising team members in the absence of the store manager. Assistant Manager will be responsible for managing the scheduling and training of the store’s workforce.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
o Ensure that employees follow the company standards, policies and strategies.
o Cooperate with General Manager in recruiting, training, payroll processing, performance evaluation, promotions, and releasing the employees.
o Coordinate with General Manager in planning short- and long-term projects, budgets, schedules, and manpower.
o Develop and implement staffing and business plans to achieve business targets.
o Evaluate key productivity indicators and implement process improvement initiatives.
o Identify and report equipment repair and maintenance work promptly.
o Address operational, technical and mechanical issues in a timely manner.
o Manage direct reporting to General Manager related to financial, business, and administration matters.
o Develop positive working relationship with the support divisions and operations team to ensure proper operational support.
o Develop operational strategy and ensure that the operational activities meet the organizational requirements.
o Delegate daily work assignments and schedules for employees.
o Responsible for providing a high level of education and development for staff pertaining to cannabis strains, edibles, concentrates and consumption mechanisms.
o Schedule and facilitate monthly store meetings.

o Experience working in a heavily regulated industry

Marketing Specialist
The primary focus of the Marketing Specialist is to work closely with appropriate management and be responsible for day-to-day retail marketing activities. Specifically, this position will be responsible for coordinating and promoting retail incentives, as well as managing and publishing content for digital media and across social media channels.
The Marketing Specialist must be a highly motivated and creative individual, with experience and a passion for connecting with current and future customers. An essential component is communicating the company’s brand in a positive, authentic way that will attract customers.
Responsibilities:
Manage promotional calendar to maximize the effectiveness of specials and incentives, by driving traffic and revenue.
Keep track of competitive incentives and trends in the market.
Compile and analyze retail data to understand the impact of promotions, products and brands, as well as consumer demographics and purchase activity.
Support the development and implementation of measurable social media campaigns that inspire brand-consumer engagement and influence action.
Implement and manage social media influencer and ambassador program.
Manage marketing calendar to ensure content and assets are being delivered on time.
Work with director on day-to-day activities and social media.
Work with director on brand fulfillment and design direction.

Job Requirements:

Seeking a Full Time Controller professional to join our team at BISHCO and other co-owned entities.
With nearly 8 years in business, our busy office is focused on six entities that include Arizona licensed non-profit cannabis businesses and their related enterprises. Office is conveniently located at the I-10E/Chandler Blvd intersection in a business park area.
Flexible work hours. The position is being added due to the retirement of the existing long-term controller. Would consider FT Employee or contractor position.
Responsibilities:
- Keep up-to-date books for multiple organizations.
- Run payroll and handle all federal and state withholding filing and payments.
- Issue checks to vendors and contractors. Ensure the collection of all required documents and issue 1099s at year-end.
- Administer all sales tax calculations, filing, and payments for at least four organizations on AZTaxes.Gov.
- Administer 401k program.
- Benefits administration & tracking for staff.
- Assemble and file property tax documents with the applicable county assessor.
- Handle all entities corporation commission renewals.
- Assist required external auditors as requested (Three state licensed cannabis companies).
- Interface directly with owners.
- Respond to questions timely. Interface with some clients in the office.
- Prepare and issue the financial statements for monthly, quarterly and YE board meetings.
- Supervise and work with employees/contractors dedicated to supporting the Finance processes (currently 1 full-time bookkeeper).
- Educate staff on financial practices/set timelines/deadlines appropriately for all involved.

- Review of client contracts and prepare invoices for routine payments.
- Maintenance of Business docs for all entities.

- Calculate and prepare sales tax payments
- Fixed Asset Management
- Preparing checks, Payments, and Bank Deposits

- Budget preparation assistance for each entity at the direction of staff
- Tracking staff benefits
- Tracking and filing state and federal payroll withholding
- Administering 401K program
Must have deep understanding of:
- GAAP - Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Procedures
- Standard bookkeeping practices and principles

General Qualifications:
- CPA and Financial Controller experience a plus that could positively affect compensation.
- Strong organizational skills
- Utmost confidentiality.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or higher-level degree
- 5+ years of experience with QuickBooks.
- Non-profit accounting experience a plus. (990s/990Ts).
- Desire to learn about accounting in a new industry that has unusual tax challenges (Cannabis Accounting)
- Strong writing, research, and analytical skills
- Professional and succinct communication, especially when responding to staff/client questions via email.
- Efficient and effective at maintaining current books for multiple companies.
