Position Overview

Summary
The Assistant General Manager (AGM) supports the GM in leading all departments within their assigned dispensary to ensure delivery of an exceptional customer experience while maintaining a positive team culture. This role is a crucial liaison between in-store staff and upper management. This position also assists in overseeing customer service, cash and inventory management, medical and security teams, and team member training and development.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
People Management Responsibilities
- Leads by example in creating a positive atmosphere, encouraging a customer first philosophy, and promoting a global mindset
- Ensures the consistent delivery of an exceptional customer experience via staff training and development and the enforcement of company policies, practices, and procedures
- Provides on-going coaching and regular individualized feedback to all Team Members
- Maintains records on staff performance (productivity, sales, attendance, etc.) and ensures plans for performance improvement are instituted in a timely manner where required
- Supports the GM in interviewing, hiring, on-boarding, training, and managing dispensary staff
- Helps train and develop staff in accordance with company policies, practices, and procedures
- Holds all team members accountable for performing in a manner that is consistent with individual job descriptions, position goals/KPIs, and the company’s code of conduct
- Utilizes rewards, recognition, and personal development tools to continuously encourage optimal levels of employee engagement and performance

Sales and Operations Management Responsibilities
- Ensures all staff are trained on dispensary SOPs and state compliance protocols
- Ensures relevant legislative and procedural changes are communicated and trained to dispensary staff
- Maintains knowledge on all aspects of the medical cannabis industry to ensure customers are benefitting from current and effective cannabis practices
- Supports the GM is achieving individual and dispensary KPI’s including but not limited to sales, customer service, inventory levels, payroll, and overall profit metrics
- Provides feedback to GM, marketing, and Inventory Coordinator regarding local product markets and inventory trends
- Makes suggestions to GM on improvements to business processes and practices
Inventory Management Responsibilities
- Supports accurate and efficient inventory tracking based on system metrics and results
- Ensures SOP compliance personally and amongst staff to promote reporting consistency, mitigate loss, and achieve state compliance
- Communicates need for adequate stock levels, proper product assortment, and consistent replenishment planning
- Makes suggestions to GM and Inventory Coordinator for products, specials, and campaigns.
Cash Management Responsibilities
- Ensures cash in store is regularly counted, cross-checked, and balanced
- Ensures cash tracking procedures are followed to mitigate potential loss
- Reports variances to GM and assists in the prompt investigating and resolution of cash related issues
- Holds the dispensary team accountable for consistent and accurate cash handling and ensures that the team is following processes and procedures designated by the Financial Controller

- Ensures safety and security standards are consistently upheld
- Partners with security team to proactively identify and mitigate potential risks to personnel and property

Qualifications
Education and Experience
- 3+ years of experience in high volume, fast-paced customer-facing team management
- Two (2) years of experience working with cannabis or highly regulated retail preferred

Assistant General Manager Job Summary -
The Assistant General Manager (“AGM”) is responsible for managing day-to-day operations of the dispensary in accordance with state and local laws and standards set by Lazy River Products. The AGM provides support to the GM and Dispensary Team Leads, as well as performing and cross training all roles of Customer Service Representatives (“CSR”), which includes Checkout Associate, Floor Sales Associate, Guest Relations, and Order Fulfillment. Assistant General Manager Core Tasks and Responsibilities – Retail Support and Management:

Responsibilities:
- Understand, adhere to and enforce all state-specific regulatory compliance measures – Including product-handling, seed-to-sale tracking, HIPPA, health/safety policies and operational guidelines
- Assist in retail management, employee development, employee disciplinary action, operational duties and community involvement as directed by the General Manager
- Maintain familiarity with all new and existing product offerings – Understand the differences in the purported effects and effectiveness of the medical cannabis strains available, and the methods of their use
- Educate staff on new products, schedule demos and staff trainings from outside vendors
- Operate and troubleshoot state-wide track and trace system, inventory adjustments, cash management, facility surveillance systems, scales, equipment, software, etc. – Ability to adapt to new systems, strong technical skills preferred
- Oversee the opening and/or closing of the dispensary - arm/disarm security systems, record beginning and end of day information into the statewide track and trace system, and guarantee all necessary steps have been completed at the start and finish of each day
- Manage all aspects of Patient Home Delivery services – coordinate with Try Doobie to facilitate smooth delivery operations, train delivery staff on Delivery Standard Operating Procedures, analyze profitability and efficiency as it relates to current service area/order minimums/order windows/etc.
- Monitor sales and communicate directly with the Purchasing Manager and General Manager to determine the anticipated supply/demand needs of the dispensary based on profit margins, sell-through rates, top selling products and low-performing products
- Coordinate with Purchasing Manager to receive incoming product shipments, ensure intake shelves are prepared for all incoming deliveries, verify accuracy of product quantities and package tags before signing off on Transportation Manifests
- Maintain strict inventory accuracy - Track all incoming product and input any data necessary for inventory control records into the statewide track and trace system using precision and attention to detail - Identify, investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies upon discovery
- Control all intake, tracking, storage and distribution of staff samples in accordance with state compliance measures and company policies
- Update all inventory logs, product menus, promotional materials and patient materials as new product offerings become available
- Accurately weigh, package, label and stock products for the dispensary floor
- Maintain compliant waste disposal and accurately log all wasted materials into METRC
- Manage climate control, quality inspections, sanitation and security procedures to prevent loss, diversion, waste and/or contamination
- Collaborate with General Manager and Director of Operations to facilitate all necessary state compliance measures, including but not limited to: facility site inspections, document requests, complaints, violations, draft rule revisions, METRC holds, product recalls, etc.

The Role
An Assistant General Manager is the lead Patient Care Specialist; talented at both motivating people and moving product! · Assist all patients and customers in making the right product choices by being knowledgeable of how different methods of cannabis consumption affect our patients differently. Suggest dosage starting points and upward titration for inexperienced patients
· Complete and appropriately delegate (if applicable) tasks assigned during scheduled shift, including:
o Correct cash handling and discount application
o Verification of proper paperwork, documentation, and ID for patients
o Accurate use and maintenance of the Point of Sale (POS) system
o Accurate and timely data entry of patient profiles in both the POS system and the regulatory electronic verification systems
o Assistance in verifying order deliveries for accuracy

Position Summary/Objective
The Assistant Manager of Dispensary is responsible for assisting in managing a team of dispensary employees for the Company’s cannabis dispensary retail store. This position will involve supporting the General Manager with all aspects of dispensary operations, including coaching and developing the retail store team. The Assistant Manager will serve as a General-Manager-in-Training, with the ability to complete all dispensary functions, as directed and authorized by the General Manager. The Assistant Manager will operate the store in absence of the General Manager.

Position Summary/Objective
The Assistant Manager of Dispensary is responsible for assisting in managing a team of dispensary employees for the Company’s cannabis dispensary retail store. This position will involve supporting the General Manager with all aspects of dispensary operations, including coaching and developing the retail store team. The Assistant Manager will serve as a General-Manager-in-Training, with the ability to complete all dispensary functions, as directed and authorized by the General Manager. The Assistant Manager will operate the store in absence of the General Manager.
We are seeking a passionate, driven, detailed-oriented and collaborative Assistant Manager of Dispensary to assist with leadership, direction, and support of the daily operations of the dispensary, including handling the needs of all patients and developing a team of Product Associates who are enthusiastic about delivering a best-in-class, innovative cannabis retail experience that is compliant with state and local rules and regulations. The ideal candidate has the ability to adapt to our business model and has demonstrated leadership experience, as he or she will be given significant responsibility within our dispensary. Previous cannabis retail experience is necessary.
Responsibilities
- Understand and assist the General Manager with weekly and monthly sales information
- Assist the General Manager with employee schedules and managing employee work hours and vacation request
- Assist with training of all new employees as well as the re-training of existing employees when needed
- Motivate and work together with General Manager and employees to meet and exceed sales goals
- Assist with performance reviews of dispensary employees on a regular basis
- Inform employees of new updates and general developments in the Company
- Support the General Manager in evaluating applicants by discussing job requirements and applicant qualifications with human resources; interview applicants on a consistent set of criteria
- Help ensure that inventory is adequate and help properly manage inventory by becoming well versed in the use of the Pennsylvania seed-to-sale inventory tracking system and electronic verification system
- Promote a work environment that is positive, customer-service oriented, and compliant with established company policies and procedures
- Support the General Manager by monitoring the activities of the store employees to maximize efficiency and minimize errors
- Strive to become familiar and proficient at all other tasks and duties of the General Manager
- Assist General Manager with regular and random inventory counts of medical cannabis, ancillary products, and dispensing supplies
- Accommodate scheduling expectations by supervising retail dispensary store a minimum of 40 hours per week, including weekend, evening, and holiday shifts
- Supervise dispensary Product Associates during General Manager’s absence or when directed
- Complete other duties as assigned by General Manager
- Assist in ensuring that physical environment is safe, sanitary, and that all equipment/technology is in good working order
- Lead initiatives, dispensary strategies, and specific projects at the dispensary level that may be assigned by the General Manager
- Report directly to the General Manager of Dispensary
Qualifications
Education:
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree required
Work Experience:
- Previous experience in a cannabis retail environment is required
- Thorough understanding of state and local medical Cannabis laws and regulations, and how they apply to the operations of the Company is preferred
- Considerable exposure to retail cultures focused on well-developed standard operating procedures and management and employee training programs
- Experience in inventory management and reconciliation
- Work history that demonstrates stability, progressive responsibility, and willingness to accept new duties
