Terpene Journey's Shift Leader coordinates and manages daily sales operations
As a Shift Leader, your chief responsibility will be as the point person leading the daily budtending team with a dual focus on customer retail experience and compliance. Shift leaders play a key role in supporting the senior management team and collaborating with Inventory Specialists and Security Agents.
As a Terpene Journey Shift Leader, you will be responsible for:
- Setting a postive tone and example for the rest of the staff
- Promoting a sales floor environment that is clean, safe, organized and focused on delivering outstanding customer service
- Assisting in managing and developing a strong Budtending team, and supporting the team and customers with deep product knowledge
- Collaborating with Inventory Specialists to ensure sales floor inventory is adequate and organized throughout shift and prepped for later shifts; re-stocking throughout the day
- Anticipating issues and taking action to see tasks through completion
- Resolving conflict in a positive manner and de-escalating issues
- Overseeing the Security Conciere to ensure successful implementation of the Security Plan
- Abiding by regulatory agency requirements and company standard operating procedures

To be successful in this role you will have:
- 3+ years experience managing shifts at successful retail stores

General job requirements:
- Due to state regulations, qualified candidates for this position must be at least 21 years of age and able to pass a fingerprinting background check certain criminal convictions may disqualify candidates based on state marijuana licensing regulations
- Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds for a distance of 50 feet

- Greeting customers enthusiastically, politely and with a smile. Manners are important.
- Opening doors for all customers as they enter and exit the store. You view opening doors as an important part of creating an outstanding guest experience as opposed to a chore.
- Verifying IDs carefully and thoroughly for all who enter our premises
- Ensuring a safe and efficient shopping process through queue management
- Monitoring the parking lot and conducting perimeter checks
- Supporting intake of deliveries
- Other standard security responsibilities
- Supporting the inventory delivery, intake and audit process, as needed
- Abiding by regulatory agency requirements and company standard operating procedures
The above duties and responsibilities may change according to the operational needs of the company.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Security experience of at least 1 year and ability to de-escalate a variety of sticky situations
- Customer service experience of at least 1 year
- A genuine desire to serve customers
- Computer/iPhone capable
- Proactive, 'can do' attitude
- Strong customer focus
- Excellent verbal communicator
- Knack for details
- Tolerance of the cold. Although the Security Concierge is stationed inside, all IDs must be checked outside the store, so there's a constant going outside and coming inside. It's not bad but it's not for everyone.

Terpene Journey's Inventory Specialist is all things product
As an Inventory Specialist, you will have the critical responsibility of tracking our product through all movements from supplier to sale and beyond. The Inventory Specialist will have a unique and impactful role of implementing an inventory management regimen that meets both retail needs and compliance requirements.
As a Terpene Journey Inventory Specialist, you will be responsible for:
- Performing daily, weekly, and monthly inventory audits and reconciliations
- Curating a diverse product selection that keeps abreast with industry trends
- Coordinating product orders based on projected needs and overseeing delivery records and invoices
- Maintaining an organized vault/inventory storage space
- Facilitate the delivery intake process
- Abiding by regulatory agency requirements and company standard operating procedures
The above duties and responsibilities may change according to the operational needs of the company.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- 2+ years experience inventory management, METRC experienced preferred
- Proficient in Windows 10 operating system, Microsoft Office suite of products

Budtender - Full Time (40 hours/week)

Terpene Journey's budtending team embodies our value of empowering our customers to use cannabis to discover themselves on newer and deeper levels. As the primary face to our customers, a bud-tending team member will be honest and kind and collaborate as a team for the customer. The budtending teams' focus is on sales efficiency through consumer education on cannabis.
As a budtender, you will be on the front lines of introducing cannabis to newbies as well as delighting in sharing new finds with experienced consumers. As such, our budtender should be equipped to handle the whole range of conversations honestly and with genuine care. Excellent communication skills, including active listening, is a key attribute of a great budtender.
As a Terpene Journey budtender, you will be responsible for:
- Providing friendly customer sales transactions, cash management and data entry
- Maintaining cleanliness and organization of dispensary (e.g., opening and closing procedures, inventory assistance, stickering, stocking supplies)
- Abiding by regulatory agency requirements and company standard operating procedures
The above duties and responsibilities may change according to the operational needs of the company.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- 2+ years experience in retail sales or a customer facing role (e.g. bartender, server)
- Ability to take direction and willingness to grow
- Knowledgeable about the cannabis industry and terpenes a big plus!
