Position Summary:
Provide knowledge, leadership, and management to complete building construction projects safely, profitability and in accordance with the contract documents.
Essential Functions/Position Responsibilities:
- Adhere to all Company Safety Policies and the Company Code of Conduct.
- Provide leadership and a sense of urgency throughout the course of the project.
- Provide support and guidance throughout the estimating process.
- Assist in the project buyout and selection of key subcontractors, vendors, equipment and systems.
- Plan, organize and staff key field positions, to achieve the best allocation of resources within a defined budget, to meet project expectations.
- Establish project objectives, milestones, policies, procedures, systems and performance standards according to the RHW Pre- Planning Process
- Initiate and maintain liaison with prime client to facilitate construction activities.
- Monitor, control and support construction, working with the on-site Superintendent or Foreman, to ensure project safety, profitability and quality.
- Develop, monitor and update the project schedule.
- Assist superintendent or Foreman in resolving subcontractor performance issues.
- Learn and implement Lean Construction methods and practices
- Identify and resolve potentially serious situations and events
- Provides oversight of the submittal process, to insure products and systems comply with the contract documents
- Represent company in project meetings; assist in labor negotiations/strategy meetings, etc.
- Manage financial aspects of contracts (fee payment, purchases, rental equipment, income/expenses, change orders, etc.) to protect company's interest and simultaneously maintain good relationship with the client.
- Support all company reporting functions such as peer reviews, weekly reports, time cards, annual reviews, etc.
- Protect company from improper "At-Risk" activities, especially monitoring adherence to all safety procedures.
- Manage all types of company projects, including Design Build, Bid Build, as well as Service and Unit Price Work.
- Assume additional responsibilities as directed by Division Manager.
Hiring Requirements:
- 4 Year engineering degree or equivalent, plus extensive (five or more years) experience/knowledge of construction, design, finance, and management required.
- Must have a working knowledge of structural, mechanical, and electrical civil and building practices and concepts.
- Innovative and effective management techniques to maximize employee performance.
- Thorough understanding of construction software, corporate and industry practices, processes, standards, etc. and their impact on project activities.
- Computer skills required, including familiarity with Microsoft office suite programs.
- Knowledge of scheduling software (Primavera, Microsoft Project etc.)
- Vital; superior communication and interpersonal (tact, diplomacy, influence, etc.) skills essential.
- Must be confident in directing and coordinating staff, sub-contractors, and consultants.
- Superior organization skills, ability to make independent decisions and multi-task.
- Must have a valid Driver's License.
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen (including negative drug screen for cannabis/marijuana).
- Obtain and maintain a DOT medical card. (company provided).
- OSHA 10 Certification, or ability to obtain during pre-employment (company provided online training).
