Technical Sales Representatives
Pollen Sense, LLC is a global leader in automated real-time airborne pollen and fungal spore identification. Pollen Sense produces a revolutionary sensor that monitors pollen and fungal pathogens in crop production. The data are real-time and actionable for Integrated Disease Management (IDM) programs as well as yield estimation.
Pollen Sense is looking for sales representatives in the following Locations:
- West Coast (CA, OR, WA)
- South East US (FL, GA)
Scope:
The Technical Sales Representative is responsible for developing and managing the sales of Pollen Sense APS sensors into specialty crops markets such as cannabis, hemp, strawberry, vegetable and wind-pollinated tree crops such as olive, hazelnut, and pistachio.
This will be accomplished by:
- Implementing sales strategies to achieve sales objectives in the assigned territory.
- Support the customer needs by calling on distributors and growers in the territory.
- Promote Pollen Sense APS sensors as a valuable tool to inform growers of threats and the effect of pollen on yield potential.
- With the support of the technical team, develop custom machine learning models to monitor crop-specific pollen and airborne fungal spores.
- Participate in trade shows, exhibitions, growers’ meetings and seminars
- Create and manage experts and opinion leaders’ network to support Pollen Sense brand awareness.
Required Skills / Experience:
- BA/BS degree in horticulture, agriculture, or similar experience. Degree in plant pathology is a plus. MS is a plus.
- Preferred 2+ years’ experience in agriculture or horticulture sales
- Experience with creating IDM programs and crop scouting.
- Have a strong interest in agricultural sensor technologies.
- Ability to recognize diseases, with knowledge of available control products.
- Knowledge of grower cultural practices
- Ability to work independently.
- Willing to travel on business up to 40%.
- Identify, prioritize, set and achieve goals with efficiency.
- Strong communication skills. Communicate effectively, both verbally and written in English.
- Negotiate, mediate and resolve conflicts.
