HUMAN RESOURCES COORDINATOR
Sonoran Roots is looking for an experienced Human Resources professional to join our team in the role of
Human Resources Coordinator. This is a full-time, non-exempt hourly position, regularly scheduled for at least forty (40) hours per week, Monday – Friday, with additional days and hours worked as needed.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES – HUMAN RESOURCES COORDINATOR:
- Consults with different departments to understand the requirements, duties, and qualifications desired for the specified vacant position(s).
- Screens candidates, selects qualified and interested candidates for the interviewing phase and then connects viable candidates with hiring managers.
- Checks candidates’ references and credentials, verifying experience and backgrounds.
- Follows up with hiring managers after the interview process to determine whether a placement can be made; collects feedback when placement is unsuccessful.
- Maintains and ensures compliance with applicable equal employment opportunity (EEO) and related employment laws and regulations.
- Administers health and welfare plans, including enrollments, changes, and terminations.
- Process required documents through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record-keeping and proper deductions.
- Welcoming newly hired employees and executing the engagement plan throughout the onboarding journey; managing the end-to-end onboarding process, ensuring an excellent experience for new employees and a smooth start into their roles.
- Auditing data and setting up employee profiles in the HRIS system; assisting with coordinating, preparing, and distributing employee documentation.
- Serving as the primary contact for hiring managers and newly hired employees.
- Prioritizing and managing workload to meet critical deadlines.
- Ensuring compliance with all processes and maintaining a high confidentiality level.
- Assists with processing of terminations in HRIS.
- Schedules meetings and interviews as requested by the director of HR.
- Files documents into appropriate employee files.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

- $18 - $20 base pay (dependent on qualification and experience).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Required):
- Must be 21+ years old.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an AZDHS Facility Agent Card.
- At least two (2) years of Human Resources experience, showing progressive growth in skills and development.
- Attention to detail and ability and willingness to follow instructions.
- Able to sit or stand for extended periods.
- Reliable attendance and communication – show up to work when you say you will and do what you say you will do.
- Quick learner and willing to be coachable and flexible with work tasks.
- Criminal background checks will be performed; most marijuana-related crimes will not negatively impact an application.
- High school diploma or GED.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS (Preferred):
- Experience in the cannabis industry (formal or informal).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Working understanding of human resource principles, practices, and procedures.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and, at times, stressful environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Experience with Paychex HRIS a plus.
