OWC is seeking passionate, driven and hardworking individuals to fill positions as Cultivation Technician. Cultivation Technicians are hands-on and require individuals who enjoy rolling up their sleeves and are accustomed to manual labor-intensive jobs, with a high passion for cultivation.
Prior experience in the natural and organic food industry or greenhouse setting is a plus but not required. This is an opportunity for an enthusiastic, self-motivated and organised individual to assume a position at a rapidly growing, innovative company.
Areas of Responsibility
- Assisting in the growth, harvesting and packing of plants.
- Inspecting plants, fan leaves, and preparing for harvesting
- Assisting in in the loading and unloading of supplies and materials.
- Crop handling: cloning, transplanting, and harvesting.
- Handle leaves, look for bugs, and proper pesticide methods
- Ensure proper hand washing and use of scrubs and hair nets, if applicable
- Inspect and weigh each plan at harvest; discard leaves as necessary; ensure no bugs
- Monitor leaves for pests or pathogens and report to Cultivation Supervisor
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand for a full 8 hour shift.
- Must be comfortable working in summer heat conditions and air-conditioned rooms.
- Must be able to work at a steady pace and must be detailed oriented.
- Must have a reliable form of transportation, train, bus, car, Etc.
- Open availability to work various work schedules including weekends.
- Must be authorized to work in the US.

MISSION STATEMENT:
We are striving to produce the highest quality Cannabis on the market through organic cultivation methods. Outdoor/Greenhouse/Hoop-house cultivation experience is required. Degree Preferred or experience in lieu of.
JOB SUMMARY:
- Manage the day to day and big picture operations of a medium to large scale indoor grow with primary supervisory responsibilities overseeing all aspects of cultivation through finished product
- Must oversee the cultivation procedures and nutrient protocols keeping accurate records and presenting the results in a timely manner to the appropriate executives
- Experience with cannabis track and trace technology and systems
- Follow company cultivation methods, and work closely with the rest of the cultivation department to develop and improve processes and supervise all post-harvest activities
- Ensure proper training and development of employees and prepare weekly employee time and payroll
- Schedule preventative maintenance to ensure the highest quality yields without loss to fungus, disease and mold etc.
- Scale, upgrade, and optimize infrastructure consistent with anticipated growth, trends, needs, and requirements
- Ensure implementation and adherence to health and safety procedures Ensure all safety and quality standards are adhered to
- Design capable, scalable processes to consistently deliver optimal quality and yield Maintain accurate daily records of flower product during the different phases of the process
- Ensure overall crop management including purchasing inputs, monitoring, etc.
- Develop company cultivation methodology
- Motivate cultivation staff to meet set performance targets
- Ensure post-harvest work areas are clean and maintained in accordance with the company's standard operating procedures
- Work closely with the rest of the Cultivation Department to improve processes and develop new best practices
- Ensure proper training and development of employees
- Maintain accurate inventory of tools and supplies
- Work closely with the Cultivation Supervisor to prepare weekly employee time and payroll

Supervisory Responsibility
This position manages all hourly employees of the department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that department in partnership with The Human Resources Department.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional cultivation environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions. The noise level in the work environment can be loud, tight corners and work spaces.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Some examples are: lifting up to 50lbs, some work with hands above head, bending over for extended period, and working in tight, dusty, cold, hot, spaces, etc.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
