Assistant General Manager
Overview:
The Assistant General Manager is primarily responsible for executing the day-to-day operations of the retail store and dispensary, including order fulfillment processes. Responsible for the implementation of retail processes, policies and procedures that comply with the local laws and regulations. Lead the team to provide service that exceeds customer expectations. This position will report directly to the General Manager (GM).
Location: Downtown Washington, DC (Must be willing to relocate or commute)
Pay: TBD DOE (Estimated Range $60,000-70,000 annually plus bonus)
Schedule: Monday-Friday (Day Shift, Midday Shift, Evenings Shift & Weekends) Must be flexible with schedule.
Duties:
- Responsible for managing provisioning center, retail store, staff, inventory, and patient/customer relations.
- Perform Human Resource duties such as conducting interviews and executing disciplinary actions.
- Direct the operations of the staff to include opening/closing/shift changing functions, task delegation, and scheduling.
- Serve as a role model for the staff and coordinate with upper management to ensure accurate information is communicated.
- Aid in the training and development of a team that embodies the Monko brand by delivering exceptional service and product knowledge to drive customer loyalty and increase retention.
- Execute a range of duties, projects and administrative tasks as directed by the General Manager based on business needs, ensuring that all deadlines are met and taking accountability for completion.
- Actively work with the General Manager to brainstorm and execute store specific marketing plans, events, and community outreach initiatives.
- Demonstrate extensive product knowledge and ensure strict compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations, including Initiative 71.
- Oversee cash management procedures including register counts, safe deposits, and change orders.
- Manage aspects of bookkeeping functions including the maintenance of ledgers, invoices, accounting documents, cash reports and time records.
- Participate in analyzing inventory trends and the supervision of inventory management, including making suggestions for product ordering, keeping stock, and leveraging company resources to avoid outages and overstock.
- Supervise the receiving, stocking, pricing, returning, recalling, and transferring of merchandise.
- Ensure that store/grounds are clean and presentable; manage repair and maintenance; respond to emergencies.
- Aptitude for learning new computer and technology systems and software. Maintain knowledge and train staff members on the successful navigation of all pertinent systems. Ensure response to all system issues by contacting information technology support and seeking solutions.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures; maintain respectful relationships with coworkers and partners.
- Completes special assignments and other tasks as assigned, including assisting team members with their roles and responsibilities as needed.
- Maintain a general awareness of Cannabis and retail trends to help create innovative and adaptive strategies.

Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of supervisory experience in the hospitality industry or with a high-end, luxury retailer/boutique is strongly preferred.
- Inventory and Financial Management experience a must.
- Sales experience with POS system software is required.
- Work/manage coverage of weekends and holidays as necessary.
- Must be flexible regarding work schedule and willing to work 5-6 days per week when necessary, including evenings and weekends, holidays, as well as opening and closing shifts
