SalesConsultant – Remote/Denver
MJBiz, an award-winning B2B media companyproducing online news services, newsletters, magazines and major trade shows isseeking a Sales Consultant to add to our team. This position reports directlyto the VP, Sales and is responsible for managing and upselling a current clientbase while managing a pipeline of new business. Our headquarters are inLakewood CO, however this full-time position can be remote if desired. Required‘office hours’ for any meetings are 10am-3pm MT, Tuesday-Friday, with a 40-hourweek workload assumed.
Thisposition provides an excellent opportunity to be part of the news andinformation leader in the cannabis space. Our team sells across platforms toprovide advertising and event opportunities to our current client base as wellas new entrants to the market.
As a SalesConsultant at MJBiz, you will have the following responsibilities:
- Create, develop and nurture positive business relationships in theindustry
- Manage and evolve a list of current clients
- Generate new revenue from new clients entering the space
- Maintain an orderly flow of the sales process
- Travel to industry events, MJBiz events and client meetings whennecessary
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 5 years media and event sales
- Knowledge of computer applications – MS Office, Salesforce
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment
Depending on experience, the salary range forthis role is $90k – 140k(inclusive of salary and commission potential) plus healthcare, flexiblevacation and 401k.
Applicants must be a U.S. or Canada resident for this position. Residentsof CA, NY, LA, MA are not eligible for this role. Some U.S. travel will berequired on occasion, to events and the Lakewood office if remote.

Now we are seeking a Marketing Specialist in Demand Generation with strong copywriting chops to ensure our sales team have an organized, researched and updated database of qualified leads and great marcom to pitch them with. This is not a sales position. You will be responsible for:
– Copywriting marketing messages, including emails and landing pages, on our sites and in our publications to let businesses know they should enquire to advertise, sponsor or exhibit with us
– Researching, updating, classifying and organizing prospect information in our SalesForce database so we know more about our customers and potential new accounts
– Reviewing competing publications to measure our market share and ID advertisers our sales reps should be paying more attention to
– Helping our executives use their LinkedIn accounts to connect with our best customers and prospects
– Creating marcom (with support from the graphic design department) such as media kits and ‘sales slicks’ for our reps to use
This Specialist will report directly to the SVP Events & Sales and work closely with the VP Sales as well as sharing a sense of team spirit with the reps themselves. This new position has been created to help feed them more qualified leads so they can shine, and they will be grateful for your skills.
Requirements:
– Professional copywriting skills (we will ask for a sample)
– SalesForce experience, especially in updating records, and lead scoring and ranking
– 3+ years of experience in a demand generation or lead generation department, including involvement with researching and classifying leads
– Self-motivation to research new prospects, review competitors and update a database constantly
– Experience in using LinkedIn as a connection-building platform
– Experience in the publishing or event industries, or with a SaaS or other tech brand selling to thousands of mid-sized accounts, a plus.
You must be a U.S. or Canadian resident for this position. After the pandemic, you may work out of our Denver-area offices as much as you wish, or you can work from a remote location in the US or Canada. However, due to business nexus regulations, we are not able to hire residents of California, Louisiana, Massachusetts, New Jersey or New York for this position.
Depending on experience, the salary for this role is in the $60-75k per year range plus health insurance, paid time off and 401k.
Applicants must be US or Canadian residents. Note: Residents of California, New York, Louisiana and Massachusetts are not eligible for this role due to business considerations. Some US travel and possibly some travel outside the US may be required on occasion. Currently we are working virtually, however when the pandemic is over, office space will be available for any Denver-area staff requesting it.

This position reports directly to our head of IT and is responsible for several high-profile, WordPress, web sites including MJBizDaily, Hemp Industry Daily and MJBizCon.
Our headquarters are in Lakewood CO, however this full-time position can be remote if desired. It is open to residents of the US and Canada excluding the states of California, Louisiana and New York. Required ‘office hours’ for any meetings are 10am-3pm MT, Tuesday-Friday, with a 40-hour week workload assumed. This role includes full benefits such as healthcare, 401k and a flexible vacation plan.
Along managing the day-to-day operations of the Web Development team and this role is first to assist in more complex and/or coding heavy projects and issues.
Overall, you would be responsible for managing your team’s morale, goals, deliverables and tickets as well as supervising team member assignments and tracking their progress; working with the Content and Events departments to plan and implement site changes; maintaining website code for multiple sites using versioning software (Git/Beanstalk); and, managing / applying coding updates to news web sites with heavy traffic. Responsibilities will include:
- Manage your small team and occasional external contractors to ensure quality and consistency of deliverables
- Work with front-end and graphic designers to apply suggested UI/UX changes to current sites
- Contribute code and tests
- Troubleshoot, monitor and support all websites in live production, including updating change requests, fixes and errors to site coding in timely manner
- Seek opportunities to enhance the stability, performance, maintainability, mobile-friendliness, SEO and extensibility of all websites
- Establish best practices for team management, host ongoing team status meetings
- Work with team to establish website usability learning materials for company users
- Provide IT support where necessary to maintain website uptime and stability
- Improve web team productivity, culture and product quality
Job requirements include:
- 5+ years of Full Stack web development experience (CSS, Javascript, PHP, HTML, mySQL)
- 3+ years of experience managing a team of developers
- WordPress coding, theming, skinning experience
- Experience with web design / development lifecycle
- Knowledge of SEO and a/b testing
- Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail
- Proven analytical and creative problem-solving abilities
- Strong client service skills
- Driven and able to take in new functionality projects
- Experience selecting and recommending plug-ins and software
- Must be able to juggle a workload that fluctuates in response to in house troubleshooting and expansion demands
In addition, preference will be give to candidates with:
- UI / front-end design experience
- Experience working in LAMP hosting environments
- Technical / coding certifications a plus
- Willingness to learn and apply new technologies and methodologies
- Experience with Agile Project Management with multiple team members
- Able to multitask and work with multiple department heads on projects
- IT, high traffic web hosting management and SQL database knowledge
- Heavy content site experience – news media preferred
Depending on experience, the salary range for this role is $100-120k plus healthcare, flexible vacation and 401k.
