Position Title: Retail Assistant Store Manager

Summary:
This position is responsible for supporting the Store Manager with all aspects of store operations, including coaching and developing the retail team in delivering the LIT mission statement to every customer. The Assistant Store Manager is considered a “Store Manager in Training”, with the ability to perform all Store Manager functions and have the capability to operate the store in the absence of the Store Manager. This position will also be responsible for maintaining and setting cultural expectations of the retail department.
Essential Functions:
- Assist and support the store Manager will any and all operational requirements of the retail store:
- Staffing/scheduling/time off requests/work hours
- Training/development/evaluations/onboarding of retail staff as needed
- Sales training with employees to motivate them to reach and exceed sales goals
- Monitoring and supervision of retail employees to maximize efficiency, minimize errors and enforce all company policies and procedures
- Acute focus on safety and compliance
- Communication about the store's weekly and monthly sales information
- Professional and accurate circulation of company information to retail employees
- Determining job requirements, interviewing applicants & reviewing applicant qualifications
- Ensuring that inventory is accurate and adequate, including backstock, ordering product and loss prevention.
- Working with vendors and agencies to address and resolve various matters.
- Promote a work environment that is positive, customer-service oriented, and compliant with established company policies and procedures.
- Respond to customers’ needs in a timely fashion.
- Accountable for knowing and accurately using LIT point of sales (POS) system
- Ability to open and close the store independently, as sole Manger on Duty.
- Improve the operational systems, processes, and policies as they related to the training of retail employees in support of the organization’s mission.
- Support management, management reporting and information flow.
- Working knowledge of MED regulations and compliance. Makes good judgment calls pertaining to regulations.
- Designs optimal workflow and effective training process.
- Must be able to work and communicate with all upper management positions in order to facilitate training needs, status, and recommendations, as well as take in feedback about trainee performance after training is over.
- Addresses minor employee issues (I.e., write ups, interviewing, sending someone home etc.) and escalates decision-making on personnel issues to the manager.
- Maintains a favorable working relationship with all other company employees to foster aid promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate which will be conducive to maximum employee morale, productivity, and efficiency/effectiveness.
Additional Functions:
- Perform any additional duties or responsibilities as assigned by Management.
- Ability to partner with the Store Manager on all operational matters and sully support all aspects of the store.
- Represent the company in a professional and positive manner.
- Ability to creatively cultivate long-term customer relationships.
- Ability to address and resolve problems in a professional manner.
- Must have basic Microsoft Office and Google Drive skills, experience with POS software, cash management and banking knowledge.
- Team player mentality and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to listen well and communicate effectively orally and in writing with various audiences.
- Ability to use initiative and independent judgment appropriately.
- Ability to interpret, understand, and comply with complex statutes, ordinances, regulations, standards, and laws.
- Understanding of applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations as they pertain to the industry, personnel law, safety regulations, local municipal codes and organizational rules, regulations, directives, and standard operating procedures.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, management, governmental agencies, community members and the general public.
- Must have strong communication skills with the ability to express ideas clearly and concisely in written and verbal formats.
- Ability to use standard office equipment, computer equipment and software including word processing, database management, METRC, Flowhub Classic, Flowhub Cashier, Homebase, Slack, Gusto, Gmail, spreadsheet applications and any form of electronic mail.
Additional Requirements:
- Colorado driver’s license or State ID card
- Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
- Must pass any and all required background checks
- Must be and remain compliant with any and all legal or company regulations for working in the industry
- Must obtain and retain a state-issued MED Occupational badge
Minimum Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required, bachelor’s preferred
- At least 2 years’ experience in retail, with at least 1 year in a management role in retail or customer service
- Must be able to accommodate scheduling expectations by supervising the store a minimum of five (5) full shifts per week, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- Ability to work independently, manage projects and meet deadlines
- Strong organizational skills
Working Conditions:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to perform grasping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
- Professional and effective communication, both written and verbal and handle various types of media and equipment.
- PHYSICAL DEMANDS: May be required to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift, carry and balance up to 30 pounds, or double that with assistance.
- Ability to handle and diffuse high-stress situations and a fast-paced company.
- All new employees will serve a 90-day probationary period to enable the Management team to determine suitability.

Position Title: Bud Tender

Summary:
A Bud Tender is responsible for helping customers and patients find the right products that fit their needs, while at the same time safeguarding company assets. This is a very customer-oriented position that requires a lot of interaction with a diverse group of people, and the ability to handle a fast paced environment while maintaining attention to detail while adhering to company policy and state law.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Execute Lit consultative selling standards to meet team and individual sales goals and metrics
- Responsible for driving sales and customer experience by maintaining a tidy, safe, and well merchandised store environment
- Ensure the sales floor is properly stocked and the presence of the store is well maintained
- Model best-in-class service experience that consistently exceeds our customer’s expectations
- Inspire customer confidence and create loyalty to our service
- Promote a work environment that is positive, customer-service oriented, and compliant with established policies and procedures
- Accountable for accurately utilizing Lit’s POS system
- Daily opening and closing duties. (See daily checklist)
- Daily cleaning duties including but not limited to: vacuuming, mopping, dusting, cleaning windows, organizing, etc.
- Identify marketing opportunities to forward to Social Media
- Engaging customers immediately upon entering the dispensary
- Maintain accurate tendering of change and monies
- Verify drawer is at $200 in the morning and at the end of every shift
- Perform periodic drops on assigned till
- Maintain cleanliness of not only the selling bays, but the store as a whole. This includes restrooms, break areas, reception area and parking lot
- Communicate with Store Management/Supervisors immediately about challenges. Do not assume that “someone else” has already done it
- Other duties as assigned by the Leadership Team
- Verify the ID of every customer every time. We perform a second check of ID’s to make sure that no one has “slipped” into the dispensary to illegally purchase
- Verify identification for valid AGE and EXPIRATION date
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge Requirements, Skills &/or Abilities:
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Desire to learn about our products in order to assist customers
- Knowledge of basic computer skills, Point of Sale software and cash management (including counting change correctly)
- Fun attitude and strong work ethic
- Strong attention to detail and must have a team-player mentality
- Ability to creatively cultivate long-term customer relationships
- Ability to deal with problems and resolve in a professional manner

Education &/or Experience:
- Previous retail or customer service experience preferred
Required Certificates, Licenses and Registrations:
- Must be able to obtain and maintain an Employee Badge through the Marijuana Enforcement Division.
All new employees will serve a 90 day probationary period to enable the Store Manager, COO and the Retail Operations Manager to determine their suitability as an employee.
