Vertical boutique specialty retailer (cannabis) with several locations in metro Denver is seeking an individual with proven full charge bookkeeping/accounting skills to take ownership of the company’s general accounting and financial reporting functions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Reconcile the Operating Account to the related bank statement.

Reconcile debit card activity to bank statements and internal sales detail.

Prepare financial statements.

Generate journal entries as needed to prepare monthly financial statements.

Prepares management reports as needed to support operations.

File monthly sales tax and excise tax returns.

Communicate regularly with management, providing relevant financial information as requested.

Maintain the company’s banking relationship.

Act as point of contact for tax audits as well as provide requested information.

Support outside CPA in preparation of the company’s annual tax return

Perform quarterly payroll tax reconciliation regarding Federal and State payroll tax reporting and remittance.

Supervise one A/P Specialist.

Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Degree in Accounting (2 year or 4 year).

2 years of experience with Quickbooks Online.

Small company experience, preferred.

Able to work independently with a minimal amount of oversight.

Experienced in accrual and cash basis of accounting.

Strong Excel skills.

Willingness and ability to work across the entire organization and adapt to a variety of personalities and styles.

Detail oriented with the ability to meet deadlines.

Must have critical thinking and problem solving skills.

Communication style that is professional, succinct, and clear, while also friendly, and supportive.

Ability to balance speed and efficiency and get it right the first time.

Proactive mindset; always thinking ahead and acting to proactively resolve any issues.

Monday to Friday

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
