Position
Primarily responsible for performing routine tests and analysis related to research and development projects. Other responsibilities include archiving test data, troubleshooting analysis problems, method development, sample prep, solid-phase extraction and maintenance of the R&D lab.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform routine solid-phase extractions on biological specimens.
- Plan and execute method development, method validation, and method transfer studies; independently and as part of a team.
- Assist in the development of new methods to address customers' and/or client's needs or specific requests using existing sample preparation and chromatography products.
- Operate and maintain analytical instruments including GC-MS, GC-MS/MS and LC-MS/MS.
- Stay up to date with US FDA and EPA guidelines and other industry regulations to ensure UCT products can be used in future methods for food safety, cannabis, and environmental testing that involve the use of solid-phase extraction, QuEChERS, and GC-MS or LC-MS analysis.
- Provide technical laboratory support for research projects involving food safety, environmental testing (e.g. drinking water), and cannabis.
- Execute presentations, training, and educational seminars geared towards the food safety, cannabis, and environmental markets when called upon.
- Assist the Quality Control team when needed to assess the effectiveness and cleanliness of select UCT consumables and sorbents that are commonly utilized in food safety, cannabis, and environmental testing.
- Must be familiar with basic chemical principles.
- Design and troubleshoot research projects with assistance from the R&D Supervisor.
- Archive Test data and results.
- Perform a variety of tasks simultaneously.
- Assist other chemists in the maintenance and upkeep of the lab.

Experience Qualifications:
