Title: Shift Lead
Reports to: Store Manager/Regional Staff
Summary of Position
The Shift Leaders role is a fundamental part of our leadership team and is a keyholder position with supervisory/leadership expectations. Our leaders are responsible for various tasks involved in the overall success of our operation from food service & guest standards to everything that happens on their shift!
This gig ensures full compliance with legal requirements, company policies, measuring business trends, maximizing sales/profitability, developing the team, controlling expenses /food costs and inventory and cash shortages. As a member of our front-line leadership team, under the guidance of our Store Managers you are fully authorized, encouraged, empowered and expected to run all aspects of your shift from merchandising and inventory control to making sure the store is clean, friendly and organized. Our Shift Leads are expected to meet or exceed the expectations by consistently demonstrating sound business management and fair process management skills, effective coaching of team members, and an overall leadership approach reflective of the brand you represent, the monumental responsibility you have and your desire to positively contribute to our winning team!
Essential Functions

- Responsible for general office operations, preparing business correspondence, utilizing MS Office and internal intranet products on a constant basis. Shift Leads have supervisory tasks, including management of funds and media, receiving, inventory and payroll.
- Responsible for maintaining the LBB operational standards.
- Motivates shift to meet and exceed established financial and operational goals while maintaining a positive work environment and supporting the ongoing growth and development of all team members.
- Responsible for ensuring that team, including other members of the leadership team member, have opportunities for learning new and existing product details and uses, and assists in translating such knowledge into effective sales.
- Responsible for overseeing all aspects of an assigned store, including inventory management, receiving, guest service, cash handling, bookkeeping, long- and short-term planning and staff scheduling.
- Ensures that each guest receives a timely and accurate order and has an above average shopping and/or pick-up experience.
- Identifies, trains, develops, and communicates with all staff as well as assesses performance on a regular basis during shift.
- Maintains guest service, compliance, and other related standards.
- Maintains all merchandising standards, displays, and monitors inventory levels.
- Plans and assigns daily goals, tasks, and assignments.
- Ensures proper completion through follow-up. Assists in monitoring sales performance through the analysis of sales reports and comparison shopping.
- Ensures clear, direct and proactive communication with store and field leadership by attending meetings and seeking out opportunities to engage.
- Communicates all store initiatives, expectations, and company information is shared with the store team clearly and in a timely manner, as appropriate.
- Assists Store Manager in adjusting strategies and daily operations.
- Performs any other duties as assigned by leadership team.

Required Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of three (3) years of demonstrable exceptional sales experience required. Cannabis and/or retail sales highly preferred.
- Minimum of two (2) years experience in a managerial role with direct oversight of employee performance and training.
- Some administrative support experience in a customer service-based operation.
Preferred Education and Experience
- One (1) or more years supervisory experience within a cannabis retailer in the state in which the position is based.
- Working knowledge of cannabis industry compliance and operational best practices.
- Minimum of six (6) months experience in cannabis retail or a similarly regulated industry.
Supervisory Responsibility
This role supervises team members on their shift and is responsible for leadership of those employees, providing guidance and direction and aiding them in delivering results.
