Innovative Properties Worldwide is looking for a Social Media / PR intern with a track record of success who can enhance our brand and build an online following through our various social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc). The Social Media Specialist will be responsible for developing and administering social media content that is designed to engage users and create an interactive relationship. The successful candidate will also be required to collect and review social media data to develop more effective campaigns. We specialize in science and new innovations, sustainability, STEM, cannabis tech and residential tech.
Responsibilities
- Expand upon and execute existing social media strategy in order to build followers and generate sales
- Create, edit, publish and share daily content and paid promotions that builds meaningful connections and encourages community members to take action
- Build promotions with advertisers and media partners
- Optimize company pages within each platform to increase the visibility of the company’s social content
- Plan and maintain a regimented Social Media schedule that cohesively offers subscription specials, event coverage, and news articles that appeal to targeted audiences.
- Collaborate with other departments (editorial, sales, executive management, etc) to manage reputation, identify key players and coordinate actions
- Promote magazines and content, build partnerships, promote brand abroad
Requirements
- Proven success in social media marketing or as a digital media specialist
- Excellent writing, editing (photo/video/text), presentation and communication skills
- Demonstrable social networking experience and social analytics tools knowledge
- full understanding of ads and audience development across all social media platforms
- Adequate knowledge of web design, web development, CRO and SEO
- Landing Page, autoresponders and click funnel skills are a must
- Extensive knowledge of online marketing channels
- Must have a creative spark combined with an impeccable work ethic

Responsible for building and maintaining Innovation & Tech Today, Cannabis & Tech Today, Residential Tech Today, STEM Today and Sustainability Today's audience, managing the distribution of copies, ensuring customer satisfaction, developing partnerships with outside organizations and increasing brand awareness and subscribers using all best practices.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee the circulation of quarterly editions of the magazine including mailed copies, newsstand copies, bulk copies and event copies.
Marketing efforts across all platforms in promotion of our brand, magazine subscriptions, events, sales and more.
Assist the sales team with marketing efforts and audience demographic information and tools.
Concept, plan, and promote magazines to associations, events and online distribution outlets.
Place FB and Google Ads to drive subscription revenue. Focus on bulk sales and unique distribution models.
Oversee operational elements of the business including company accounts payable/receivables, general office management, customer service and internal/external communications.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Appropriate education and/or experience may be substituted on an equivalent basis
Education: College degree in business, marketing, PR, journalism or equivalent required.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Experience in publishing, magazines and/or the journalism field required (5+ years of experience preferred).
- Ability to multitask and prioritize duties in a very fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products, familiarity with customer database management systems.
- General knowledge of marketing standards and the platforms used in promotional efforts including email, social media, direct mail and more.
- Ability to adhere to budgets, plan and analyze campaigns, and produce reporting.

We are a growing event and magazine brand in the B2B cannabis industry looking for a creative digital marketing and event marketing expert to launch a new model and drive exponential revenue growth. Emerge (emergecanna.com), produced by Cannabis & Tech Today magazine and IPW, is the only 3D 100% online cannabis event experience for the industry, and will be expanding to monthly online workshops, webinars, and multi-day events in our virtual reality platform. Our goal is to provide accessible, affordable, and actionable cannabis industry connections, intelligence, strategy, and business growth tactics to our audience of cultivators, manufacturers, retail & dispensary businesses, and industry support services like marketing, legal, HR, and legislation. We are also launching a streaming channel and will need content for that in different categories aligned with cananbis & hemp.

Key responsibilities:
70-80% of your job will be focused on the Emerge event space and tying together marketing for event attendance, magazine subscriptions, content marketing, and sales support marketing as needed. Relaunch tasks will include:
- Following new model layout for timing of events and planning outreach accordingly
- Working with Programming Director and Managing Editor for tie-ins between magazine and event
- Assessing current database for clean up and enhancement for better response
- Assessing current marketing tools for cost savings, efficiency and effectiveness
- Copywriting for email marketing, website marketing, and outside placements/PR
- Hands on execution of email blasts and website copy updates
- Oversight of social media coordinators for posting calendar, images, and timing as well as paid ads
- Backup to social media team as needed
- Coordinate media and alliance partnerships
- Work with PR agencies and outlets for event announcements and resources, including influencers
- Assistance “on site” with the virtual events for execution and coordination
- Reporting results for both magazine marketing and event marketing
20-30% of your job will be focused on CBD TV the new streaming channel and acquiring content and partners.
- Initial focus on clean up, assessing current marketing, and creating new processes

Your experience and talents should include:
- 5+ years' experience in B2B media and event marketing management
- Understanding of basic industry concepts like subscriptions, memberships, event ops, newsstand, newsletters, etc.
- Ability to see the big picture of the brand vs the day-to-day execution to reach goals
- Ability to recognize cross-promotion opportunities and execute
- Strong B2B voice and copywriting skills
- Familiarity with direct social posting and use of posting tools like Loomly, Buffer, etc.
- Familiarity with email marketing tools like Mailchimp
- Team management and motivation
- Committed to pro-active white glove customer service and best practices in marketing
- Creative and collaborative marketing to meet internal revenue targets
- Sense of urgency and responsiveness
- Ability to plan for success while being flexible to event and market changes
- Organized and well-versed in time management and project organization
- Usual Microsoft programs, plus Google docs and Outlook
- Proficiency in Canva, Adobe, or other graphic design is helpful
