GENERAL ASSISTANT
JOB TITLE: General Assistant
DEPARTMENT: Administration/Production Department
MANAGER: TBA
SUPERVISOR: TBA
SALARY: $20 - $24 / per hour (depending on experience)
GENERAL-PURPOSE
The general assistant will perform office-related functions, such as maintaining an accurate database system, keeping an organized office, and assisting the Production team. In addition, the position must wear multiple hats to assist and facilitate others in their job duties, which may consist of packaging, cleaning, and general duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- All applicants must be 21 years of age or older to apply.
- Stays updated on changes in I-502 laws and regulations
- Maintains an organized office and orders supplies as needed.
- Assists management with necessary office tasks and takes the initiative to improve workflow proactively.
- Works diligently to produce consistent quality with little distraction while working in a high-paced environment.
- Performs duties including sweeping, mopping, and general cleaning of equipment whenever needed.
- Maintains a clean workstation and the general cleaning of departments as needed.
- Assists in packaging, labeling, cleaning, and handling other assignments as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of basic principles, methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in the cannabis industry.
- Working knowledge of Word, Excel, Microsoft Teams, and QuickBooks is preferred.
- Skilled in the retail Cannabis industry is strongly preferred.
- Uses safe work methods and safety regulations in a work environment.
- Ability to analyze and troubleshoot fundamental problems and take corrective actions.
- Ability to measure and calculate basic volume weights and read and interpret gram weight conversions.
- Understands and follows oral and written instructions.
- Estimate necessary materials and equipment to complete given tasks.
- Exercise strong time-management skills, independent judgment, and initiative without close supervision, yet willing to work collectively as a team to meet deadlines.
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills and an eye for detail.
- Positive attitude, motivated, presentable demeanor, and overall approachable disposition.
- Must be willing to work weekends and have a flexible schedule.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE
A typical way of obtaining the knowledge, skills, and abilities outlined above is graduation from high school or G.E.D. equivalent. The employee may be required to provide a valid Washington
State driver’s license.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for extended periods, use hands to fingers, continuously open and close hand movements, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to stand and talk or hear; walk or sit; climb; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and move up to 50 pounds. Must have the ability to stand for long hours and work an 8-hour shift and the ability to work above the head while standing.
This job’s specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
While performing the duties of this class, the incumbent is regularly required to use oral communication skills; read and interpret data, information, and documents; analyze and solve problems; observe and interpret situations; deal with changes and interact with staff and others encountered in the course of work.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The incumbent should expect to work in a high-paced Cannabis packaging and distribution facility, which requires a self-motivated and detail-oriented individual. There is a strong possibility of being often exposed to humid conditions and plant-produced particle odors and scents. Noise levels may include large machinery equipment in temperature-regulated conditions. Due to the plant material, the employee should expect to touch sticky plant debris and green waste frequently.
