RETAIL STORE MANAGER
The Retail Store Manager is responsible for assisting the General Manager in managing the store and staff in an efficient and cost-effective way to promote sales, reduce costs, and provide excellent customer service. Doing so, by managing all day-to-day retail dispensary operations, specifically focused on sales, compliance with OLCC Division 25 rules for Retail Recreational licensee requirements, customer service, staffing, inventory, human resources and financial management. This position coordinates with the Emporium Management Team, on a regular basis to ensure all business needs are being met.
Candidates must be able to handle competing priorities, multiple tasks simultaneously and demonstrate excellent leadership, interpersonal communication, presentation and reporting skills. Must be able to manage, coach and inspire staff to accomplish both sales and back office tasks. Interpersonal skills are critical.
The Retail Store Manager will work collaboratively with the Emporium Management Team in the following areas:
SALES
· Ensure dispensary operations are prepared for service and customers 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
· Ensure that all stations and team members are working effectively
· Ensure staff are regularly refreshed on the State rules and regulations, company policy, sales promotions and products available for sale
· Work with Marketing Manager on strategies to best obtain prospective customers, promote sales, and move slow products
· Assist Intake Manager on gathering information about market competition in the area
· Manages inventory on the sales floor, compare to POS and METRC
· Manages display and stock inventory on sales floor and with the POS
· Secures merchandise by implementing security systems and measures in accordance with OLCC Division 25 Oregon Administrative Rules
· Responsible for managing the movement of flower from the vault to the floor.
· Performs inventory restocking; ensuring store supplies are stocked and ordered so as not to run out
· Makes recommendations of when to discontinue unsuccessful items and provides suggestions for new products.
· Represent the company in a professional manner at all the times
FINANCIAL
· Demonstrate ability to understand financial goals, operate assets in owners’ best interest in accordance with established policies & procedures
· Maintain accurate records of all dispensary transactions and submit on timely basis as requested by executive team
· Cash handling and reconciliation: Sales cash till drawer and ATM management
· Prepares deposits and updates POS with Budtender shift totals
· Reconciles daily sales with POS and maintains ATM balance and restock as needed for anticipated ATM usage
· Maintains receipts for reconciliation of petty cash usage
ADMINISTRATIVE
· Liaison Regulatory Inspections performed by various government agencies, law enforcement and banking facilities
· Prepare and/or implement procedures and systems within company guidelines to ensure orderly, efficient workflow
· Confirm all corresponding paperwork are completed and input to software system accurately and on a timely basis.
· Ensure any patient files are properly maintained as per OAR Division 25 and company policy
· Ensure all administrative paperwork is accurate, complete and submitted on a timely basis.
· Lead emergency team for dispensary. Ensure proper response and handling of all dispensary emergencies with staff, customers, buildings, etc. within company guidelines
· Operate video surveillance equipment to review and provide video and phot clips as needed
PERSONNEL MANAGEMENT
· Consistently use successful techniques and company directives to screen, hire, orient and train new personnel
· Ensure efficiency of staff through ongoing training, instruction, counseling and leadership.
· Plan weekly/daily office staff schedules and assignments
· Responsible for disciplinary action with staff
· Identify and address employee issues on a timely basis
· Document appropriately, communicate the situation to your supervisor and terminate properly when necessary
· Ensure all administrative processes involving personnel are handled on a timely basis (i.e., performance evaluations, salary reviews, time sheets, change of status forms, etc.)
· Model and train Budtenders of desired customer service skills and sales techniques
· Accurately relay and give direction provided by Management
· Maintain and update Standard Operating Procedures, Employee Handbook and policies as needed.
INVENTORY MANAGEMENT
· Responsible for identifying and making inventory corrections derived from sales activity.
· Ensuring an organized, clean, and orderly inventory vault and front stock.
· Ensure that all staff is using the POS system in the most efficient manner
Keeping track of all sales, profit margins, and shrinkage of our inventory
· Emphasize products that are desired by the customers and ensuring availability.
· Maintain communication inter-departmentally to forecast and eliminate shortages
MAINTENANCE
· Maintain dispensary sales floor with product, clean and safe for customers
· Maintain dispensary appearance and ensure repairs are noted and completed on timely basis. This requires regular dispensary inspections.
· Ensure that dispensary sales floors are walked daily
· Ensure that all service requests are recorded and communicated appropriately to maintenance
QUALIFICATIONS
· Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask and maintain attention to detail.
· Adequate knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation, and human resources)
· Accountable and able lead by example
· Extensive knowledge base of the dispensary products
· Strong team building, decision-making, and management skills
· Flexible availability including nights, weekends and holidays
· May not consume marijuana products during any times that would overlap with a scheduled shift
· Must know and understand OLCC OAR Division 25 rules and ensure requirements are implemented accordingly
