Gram’s Five & Dime Cannabis Co, a women-run and family-owned company, is looking to employ a knowledgeable and motivated Team Leader to help build an industry-leading customer service experience for our customers!

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Overseeing daily store operations
- Ensuring that every customer receives excellent service through training, managing and supporting the growth of employees throughout the store
- Greeting and assisting customers in a positive, approachable manner, when needed
- Answering questions and resolving customer inquiries and concerns
- Maintaining a presence in the store by providing top-tier customer service
- Ensuring a clean, well-stocked store for customers
Additional duties may include assisting the Store Manager in record keeping (to include payroll, scheduling, closing duties and cash register deposits and receipts) and loss prevention efforts. Other duties may be assigned on an as-required basis.
An outstanding Team Leader should have excellent communication and customer service skills in order to ensure customers are well-informed and happy with their experience at our store. A successful candidate should also have strong organizational skills and good attention to detail.

REQUIREMENTS
- At least 21 years old
- Maine resident with a current, valid Maine ID
- Must qualify for Maine Office of Marijuana Policy Assistant Card, which requires a background check.
- Basic knowledge of cannabis and cannabis-related products, or an ability to learn! You do not need to be an expert - we will train you!
- Computer-literacy is a must, including experience with Excel. POS and/or Inventory Management System experience a HUGE plus.
- The ability to perform tasks that involve lifting, prolonged standing, walking, crouching, and kneeling
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least one year of retail supervisory experience
HELPFUL EXPERIENCE (Not Required but Excellent to Have)
- Working for a retail business or grocery store (e.g., understanding store operations, knowing the backroom and inventory, stocking aisles and shelves, etc.)
- Training/Workforce Education (e.g., conducting employee training sessions, creating interest in employee engagement topics, training schedule creation and management, etc)
- Merchandising products (e.g., filling shelves, building displays, making products look attractive, rotating products, cleaning shelves, eliminating out of stocks and out of date products, etc.)
- Managing backroom/stock room inventory (e.g., stacking and storing inventory or products, organizing pallets, etc.)
- Serving customers (handling customer complaints, responding to customer requests, or meeting customer needs)

JOB DESCRIPTION
Gram’s Five & Dime Cannabis Co, a women-run and family-owned company, is looking for an Inventory Manager to join our growing team! In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring and reporting on the inventory for a retail cannabis company, as well as some day-to-day store management as needed. This is an excellent role for a reliable, detail-oriented person wanting to break into the industry. As we are expanding quickly, opportunities for growth are assured for the right person!
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Inventory Management
- Maintain an inventory database using the current POS system (BLAZE) for inventory control and monitoring. Place product orders to replenish stock, avoiding insufficiencies or excessive surplus.
- Schedule and Complete weekly, monthly and year-end physical inventory counts, including but not limited to- ensuring adequate staffing and materials, following and training staff on Standard Operating Procedures, monitoring progress and performing counts as needed. Coordinate cycle counts and weekly spot checks to maintain an accurate inventory.
- Complete inventory count reconciliations using reports from the POS system and work with Store Manager and Leadership to determine and resolve any issues that require investigation and action.
- Work with the Leadership Team and Store Manager to develop and document standard and emergency operating procedures for receiving, handling, storing, shipping, or salvaging products or materials.
- Monitor shipments and deliveries, ensuring all paperwork is completed and inventory is received following Standard Operating Procedures. Record shipment damages, or discrepancies, for reporting, accounting, or recordkeeping purposes. Communicate any delivery or shipment issues to the leadership team.
- Keep products at a high standard of quality every day, through use of stock rotation, proper storage, and other quality control methods.
Loss Prevention
- Devise ways to optimize inventory control procedures
- Assist Store Manager in Loss Prevention efforts through monitoring and controlling inventory levels and storage.
Relationship Management
- Build customer relationships at the store and vendor level
- Request competitive price quotes and negotiate materials and services costs with vendors and suppliers.
- Maintain communication lines with vendors to assure on-time deliveries
Reporting
- Maintain the POS System and Electronic Inventory Database. Generate reporting from systems, ensure proper file management, import raw data into database systems, analyze data and generate findings.
- Communicate store issues to store managers and Gram’s 5 & Dime LLC management
- Use provided software to monitor demand and document characteristics of inventory.
- Analyze data to anticipate future needs, ensuring adequate stock is available to cover needs with limited over-stock and/or waste.
- Drive high performance for key performance metrics: Inventory accuracy, productivity, quality standards, and optimal space utilization.
- Ensure operations sustain performance in line with the business objectives and annual budgeting.
Organization
- Ensure compliance with all rules and regulations of the State of Maine and Office of Marijuana Policy regarding Cannabis products, including packaging and storage.
- Ensure stock is properly labeled and organized at all times.
- Systematically rotate products in the backroom and on the shelf.
- Ensure storage areas and warehouses are kept clean and tidy, and adhering to Food Safety Standards when necessary.
Leadership
- Assist Store Manager to effectively manage team members, providing adequate coverage to complete necessary daily tasks, monitoring and managing hours for the store, while ensuring safety regulations are met.
- Maintain a positive work environment
- Support Store Manager in Loss Prevention efforts.
- Follow procedures detailed in the Company Handbook and in other documents
- Demonstrate a professional attitude when approaching work assignments
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Act as Manager on Duty in the absence of Store Manager
- Oversee daily store operations
- Ensure that every customer receives excellent service through training/managing employees.
- Manage/grow employees throughout the store
- Greet and assist customers in a positive, approachable manner, when needed.
- Answer questions and resolve customer inquiries and concerns.
- Maintain a presence in the store by providing excellent customer service.
- Ensures a clean, well-stocked store for customers.

QUALIFICATIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must qualify for Maine Office of Marijuana Policy Assistant Card, which requires a background check.
- Computer-literacy is a must, including experience with Excel. POS and/or Inventory Management System experience a HUGE plus. Prefer knowledge of database management and data transformation, such as Excel, Microsoft SQL, Quickbooks, etc.
- Proven experience in inventory management, either in a retail setting or in a highly-regulated industry (ie - bar management with reordering/inventory responsibilities)
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs often, and at least 20 lbs overhead. Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, crouch, crawl, and reach with hands and arms.
- Management and/or leadership experience with the ability to supervise, lead and motivate a crew.
- Strong organizational, communication, interpersonal, and time management skills.
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to interact with management personnel and vendors
- Capable of learning new skills as needed
