We are looking for a Master Grower to oversee our crops and facilities for Crown City Green, a subsidiary of Gutchess Lumber.
Job Summary:
The Master Grower will oversee the entire operation of this business from planting to harvesting but will also be responsible for managing the financial aspects of this business including managing a budget and 1-2 employees. The right candidate will be successful if our customers are satisfied with high quality CBD and CBG products.
The ideal candidate will not only be able to deliver a quality product but would need to have the capability to see where the business can grow and cultivate those ideas which include both physical operational footprints but also market share.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain organic growing standards and practices for the indoor aquaponics facility.
- Manage and maintain proper climate controls of our cultivation facility.
- Perform tasks including cloning, transplanting, feeding plants, defoliation, topping, flushing, and inventory management.
- Develop and maintain grow protocols and nutrient regiment. Set propagation, germination, and planting protocols for all crops.
- Strong working knowledge in container systems with soil and hydro as well as understanding temperature and humidity manipulation.
- Expert knowledge of plant diseases, insects, and fungi, as well as plant treatment options.
- Successfully executes preventative maintenance and elimination of types of mold, powdery mildew, spider mites, root aphids, etc.
- Demonstrates mastery of growing methods, including in-depth knowledge of micronutrients, beneficial bacteria, and nutrient implementation.
- Manages plant scheduling to precisely project all grow needs on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
- Analyzes each individual strain from seed or clone to harvest.
- Maintains a clean and organized work environment.
- Collaborates with management to provide timely reporting.
- Assists in government inspections and compliance audits.
- Conducts facility maintenance and troubleshooting as necessary.
- Understand and comply with all state and federal standards for legal THC levels.
- Operates under the high standards our company has for compliance and professionalism.
Job Qualifications :
- Degree in Botany, Biology, Agriculture, Horticulture or relevant field is desirable.
- Proven experience as a grower, preferably at a large scale or pharmaceutical environment
- Experience with managing budgets
- Strong knowledge of the entire cannabis growth cycle and requirements.
- Familiarity with environment protection practices and the hemp legal framework.
- Understanding of pest and disease management techniques.
- Willingness to continue learning about aquaculture and hemp farming to stay on top of current and future trends.
- Problem-solving aptitude.
- Leadership and people management skills.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job.
- Experience with organic growing techniques and living soil also a plus.
- Highly knowledgeable and well researched on many growing techniques and provides insight to expand the company’s knowledge of growing techniques that result in gains in plant yield.
- Either possess or develop comprehensive knowledge of strains including CBD and CBG varieties.
