Extraction Technician
The Extraction Technician will be responsible for safely and effectively converting cannabis materials into high quality, food safe medical cannabis oils and liquids for ingestion, inhalation, or topical applications.
Responsibilities include:
- Performing his/her/their duties in a safe manner and environment while adhering to all governmental regulations for this industry.
- Carrying out all extraction, extract processing, product formulation, filling and manufacturing procedures in an efficient manner that also complies with FDA GMP’s, OSHA regulations, Comco Wellness SOP’s and all applicable laboratory procedures.
- Packaging of Comco Wellness cannabis product lines as needed.
- Ensuring compliance and accuracy involving all product tracking, product security, and product movement procedures.
- Following appropriate control measures to prevent mixing of dissimilar production components while following Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Performing in-process and post-process quality assurance testing and conducting visual inspections to ensure all products meet or exceed Comco Wellness’s specifications and consumer expectations. Such quality assurance work shall include but not be limited to:
- Recording and monitoring process conditions to ensure compliance to standard operating procedures and the state inventory tracking system. (METRC)
- Proper weighing, data recording, and batch tracking throughout extraction process
- Work with 3rd party laboratories on sampling and lot control for their sample gathering and reporting.
- Continually strive to improve Comco Wellness’s processes for improved consumer safety, quality, and efficient manufacturing practices
- Support new product and process development work with our innovation team
- Monitoring and managing lab and processing equipment supplies and inventory.
- Additional responsibilities as assigned by the Leadership Team.
Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma or G.E.D minimum.
Experience: The ideal candidate will have at least one to three years of applicable cannabis or related extraction, formulating, and packaging experience with a focus on ensuring product safety, consumer safety and satisfaction, and high product quality. Experience with solvent and mechanical separation systems preferred,: including large scale production sugar/ wax, live sugar/resin/wax, live rosin, bubble hash and shatter.
Physical Requirements: Include standing, bending, and lifting to 50 pounds by themselves and 75+ pounds with a buddy, carrying product totes, pushing carts, moving, and making adjustments to process equipment.
Competencies/Additional Requirements include:
Attention to detail, mechanically inclined, Effective communication skills, Strong work ethic, willingness to learn and improve each operation, Ability to perform repetitive tasks for long periods of time (i.e., trimming plants, weighing product, and regular inventory). Availability to work occasional weekends, nights, and holidays
