Position Summary
This position is responsible for performing the accounting and analysis for the cannabis industry. This includes developing; implementing and/or maintaining one or a combination of generally accepted accounting systems. Prepare and analyze financial reports, journal entries, maintain and reconcile ledger accounts. Provide record of assets, liabilities and other financial transitions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Performing basic accounting procedures, e.g. A/R, A/P, time billing, P/R, G/L, tax payments and inventory control
- Processing payroll for the entire company
- Month end and quarterly closing (e.g. balance sheets, income statements and cash flow statements)
- Assisting Accounting Manager with annual financial and 401K audits by serving as company liaison with auditors
- Communicating with vendors to address any past due invoices on their account
- Preparing financial statements, e.g. monthly and quarterly financial reports, weekly forecasts to Management Team summarizing current and projected financial position
- Analyzing and reconciling general ledger accounts and investment transactions in conjunction with preparing quarterly reports for management
- Producing financial data for management team upon request and assisting with other special Accounting projects from time to time
- Performing analysis of operations on a monthly basis
- Ensuring all active projects are covered by valid, binding contracts
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field preferred
- 2+ years progressive accounting experience in public accounting or similar work environment
- Strong organization, oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Strong computer aptitude, which includes expertise with Microsoft Excel and Word as well as experience with QuickBooks accounting software
- Analytical skills with particular attention to detail
- Technical Accounting experience a plus

Position Summary
Bookkeepers are responsible for managing the bookkeeping and general office administrative duties. Primary responsibilities include the following:
- Maintaining records according to generally accepted accounting principles including the recordation of general journal entries, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, and reconciliation of bank statements
- Tracking down payments
- Assist in month and year-end closing process
- Cash receipts
- Manual check entries
- General ledger
- Daily journal entries
- Check runs
- Fixed asset activity
- Provide recommendations
- Organizing and filing records
- Performing other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Two or more years of office or bookkeeping experience
- Payroll skills and use of common bookkeeping software is required; previous experience in accounting and QuickBooks or related programs
- Strong knowledge of bookkeeping practices and procedures
- Accuracy and attention to detail is absolutely required, as well as a track record of reliability, confidentiality, and conscientious work habits
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, and Word
- Ability to work independently with little supervision
- Ability to organize and prioritize effectively
- Attention to detail with exceptional level of accuracy
- Ability to interpret data and make cost effective decisions
- Ability to adapt and work efficiently in a rapidly changing dynamic environment with deadline pressures
- Demonstrated ability in dealing directly with clients
