BURNCO is looking for a skilled Plant Operator to join our team in Golden, Colorado. Reporting to the Foreman, the successful candidate will help run the plant and operate equipment, tools, and other manufacturing resources safely in our aggregate plant. Key Accountabilities

What You Will Be Doing
- Safely operate processing plant to produce concrete products
- Complete aggregate test and analysis
- Utilize various industrial equipment such as blender, loader, haul truck, skid steer, welder, hand tools, etc. to complete daily job requirements
- Work with team members to complete operational priorities of the day, cross train in other job positions as needed
- Help maintain a hazard free work environment by assisting in housekeeping and maintenance duties
- Walk plant regularly to identify safety hazards, maintenance needs, review completed repairs, etc.
- Complete required paperwork, identify plant improvement opportunities and escalate operational issues to Foreman
- Keep current on safety instructions such as MSHA regulations and BURNCO safety policies
- Other duties as assigned
What We Would Like From You
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred
- Experience working in aggregate industry and welding a plus
- Experience operating heavy machinery in a plant environment preferred
Skills
- Broad knowledge of handling heavy machinery equipment
- Ability to use power tools, welders, cutting torches/chains and various safety devices
- Self motivated and able to work effectively in small teams
- Basic mechanical aptitude and math skills
- Ability to work flexible shifts and weekends from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm
Travel
- Less than 10% - as needed
Physical Requirements
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly outside and exposed to various weather conditions including hot/cold temperatures and rain/snow conditions.
- Employee constantly stands, walks, uses fine motor skills, gross motor skills, eye/hand coordination, near vision and far vision.
- Employee frequently climbs, kneels, bends, reaches, lifts up to 30 lbs, carries up to 20 lbs, pushes, pulls and utilizes manual dexterity.
- Employee is exposure to loud noises, heavy machinery, moving equipment, oil, debris, solvents, smokes, gasses, fumes and aggregate materials.
- Required PPE includes safety shoes above ankles, safety vests, safety glasses, ear plugs and hard hats. Additional PPE requirements needed for special jobs such as welding, repairing, etc.
IMPORTANT: As a safety sensitive position, it is a condition of employment that the selected candidate successfully pass comprehensive pre-employment testing that includes a Background Check and a Drug and Alcohol screening. Please note that we have a zero tolerance policy for any Cannabis derived products regardless of use frequency or purpose.

What You Will Be Doing
Key Accountabilities
The primary areas of responsibility include:
- Proper Preventative Maintenance
- Timely Response to Maintenance Service Requests
Expected Results & Achievements
- Install, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment, physical structures, plumbing and electrical systems following specifications, blueprints and manuals
- Perform daily inspection of machinery and equipment at the plant
- Visually inspects and listens to machines and equipment to diagnose cause of malfunctions
- Communicate timely and effectively with plant leadership to keep them informed about major problems
- Operate mobile equipment including service truck to retrieve down truck assets
- Perform daily preventative maintenance, record and inspection on service vehicle to include fueling, cleaning, tire/light inspection, checking and adding fluids as needed
- Service pumps/motors as needed
- Perform welding, repair and fabrication
- Maintain parts inventory, purchasing parts for repairs as required
- Conduct service calls at other BURNCO plants or job sites as needed
- Assist in training co-workers as needed
- Perform general clean-up of work area
- Follow and demonstrate understanding of all BURNCO policies and procedures
- Perform other duties as required
What We Would Like From You
- Good working knowledge of mechanics as related to truck and general maintenance
- Ability to use power tools, welders, cutting torches/chains and various safety devices
- Demonstrated knowledge of proper mechanic/maintenance procedures such as lockout/tag outs and special work permits
- Must be proficient with computer and program systems
- Experience with Allison transmissions, Davie 4 and ESA software a plus
- Ability to read, write and communicate in English
- Ability to pass MVR (clean driving record)
- Commercial Driver’s License a plus
- Ability to work well with others in a team environment
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma preferred
- 1 year of truck mechanic experience required
- Experience with concrete mixers and aggregate haul trucks preferred
- Must be able to diagnose engines, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, transmissions, suspensions and brakes
Travel Requirements
- May be required to travel to various company facilities to perform maintenance activities
