Asceend has gathered an elite team of cannabis enthusiasts that strive to be the top performing cannabis cultivation facility in Los Angeles, and we are looking for a Human Resources Administrator to join our team.
Role Overview
Asceend is looking for an experienced Human Resources Administrator who can support the Cultivation operation with a variety of tasks. Main responsibilities for this role include: recruiting, hiring and on-boarding employees, updating HR files, writing and administering disciplinary write ups to employees, and remaining up to date on state and federal human resources laws as they relate to the cannabis cultivation field. You will coordinate heavily with the Office Administrator and Cultivation Administrator to execute a variety of tasks and projects throughout the cultivation facility.
Responsibilities
- Recruit, Hire, On-Board, Terminate Facility Employees
- Post on various job boards and channels to find high quality candidates
- Schedule and perform interviews
- Coordinate with Facility Management to schedule second round interviews
- Create and Process all hiring & on-boarding paperwork
- Facilitate on-boarding process (walk throughs, uniform sizing, etc)
- Conduct Termination procedures
- Provide Coaching and Implement Performance Improvement Plans
- Coordinate with Facility Management to write Disciplinary Write Ups
- Maintain HR files for all facility employees
- Maintain training, discipline, and performance records
- Track and update records relating to employee attendance ·

- Health Care
- PSL
- Take on additional responsibilities outside primary job description when necessary.
Skills and Qualifications
- 3+ years of progressive Administrative and Project experience working with multiple sites.
- Highly Preferred: Bachelor's degree
- Highly Preferred: Highly proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and CRM systems.
- A valid Notary Public license. *If you do not have a Notary Public license, it will not exclude you from consideration, but it is an integral part of successfully completing the duties required of the position. You will be asked to obtain the license within the first 120 days of acceptance of the position.
- Exceptional problem solving, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Additional Requirements Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
- Must comply with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry.
Physical Qualifications – These qualifications are required in order to successfully complete the job duties of the position.
- Manual dexterity and strength, unafraid of getting dirty.
- Ability to lift, bend, squat, climb, and pass up to 40lbs.
- Ability to stand and walk throughout the facility for an entire shift.
Benefits Pay Rate: Commensurate with Experience Schedule: Variable

- This position involves a three (3) month probationary period. Additionally, you will have a comprehensive performance review at the six (6) month mark. You will be evaluated for a raise at the three (3) month, and six (6) month marks, with additional performance evaluations performed every six (6) months thereafter.
