Society Cannabis Co. is looking for an experienced Human Resources & Compliance Officer to document and facilitate the internal regulatory processes for the organization’s cultivation, processing, and dispensary licenses, including 3rd party contracts, and to manage all Human Resources needs for the company. Other duties include compliance audits, assistance with developing and updating SOP’s and HR management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Compliance:
- Communicate with regulatory agencies regarding pre-submission strategies, potential regulatory pathways, compliance requirements, or clarification and follow-up of submissions under review.
- Escort state inspectors during inspections and provide post-inspection follow-up information as requested.
- Analyze regulatory deficiencies or complaints and make recommendations regarding their correction.
- Interpret regulatory rules or rule changes and ensure that they are communicated through corporate policies and procedures, including communication with Executives and Management.
- Assist with review of product promotional materials, labeling, batch records, specification sheets, or test methods for compliance with applicable regulations and policies.
- Advise project teams on subjects such as pre-market/pre-inspection/pre-license regulatory requirements, export and labeling requirements, or other regulatory compliance issues.
- Compile and maintain regulatory documentation databases or systems.
- changes in collaboration with the Legal Department.
- Maintain current knowledge base of existing and emerging regulations and obtain and distribute updated information regarding regulations, laws, guidelines, or standards.
- Prepare or assist with the preparation of additional information or responses as requested by regulatory agencies.
- Recommend changes to company procedures in response to changes in regulations or standards.
- Update standard operating procedures, work instructions, or policies.
Human Resources:
- Develop, present and implement all onboarding and training materials for new employees.
- Full-cycle, high volume recruiting including job postings, sourcing, screening, interviewing and new hire onboarding/data entry.
- Manage and assist with all HR matters company-wide including biweekly payroll, respond to workers compensation and unemployment claims, employee benefits, and additional duties as assigned by management.
- Create and implement programs to help improve the employee experience.
- Administrative duties to include HRIS data entry, filing, and other day-to-day organizational tasks.
- Assist with the development and implementation of Human Resources SOPs and policies.
- Prepare and deliver all offers, severance and termination letters.
- Manage record keeping in a compliant and organized fashion.
- Participate in ongoing education and professional development opportunities.
- Work collectively and respectfully with other team members.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior experience in a regulatory compliance position or experience in the cannabis industry is a plus.
- Good interpersonal skills and proven ability to positively influence people; must be capable of effectively interacting at all levels in the organization.
- Detail oriented with an eye on process optimization.
- Excellent time management and organization skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, to manage high stress situations, and to be flexible and adaptable when a situation requires it.
- Excellent communication skills and leadership both verbally and through written media.
- Must be 21 years of age or older, consent to CORI, background and social media check, and authorized to work in the US.
EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree is a plus.
- Minimum High School or G.E.D equivalent is required.
