Wallflower Cannabis House is seeking a human resources generalist to join our team! The ideal candidate will have a proven record of experience in retail cannabis, specifically in a management role, and have a basic understanding of HR functions. This is a dynamic role that requires both enthusiasm for cannabis education and a passion for building & maintaining positive relations with all levels of employees.
In this role, you will work with the General Managers to develop, maintain, and execute a variety of HR & and training-related programs, including:
- Provide direct support to employees by resolving issues promptly and effectively
- Schedule & organize employee performance evaluations both at regular intervals and as-needed
- Oversee and maintain records of employee training
- Reviewing resumes
- Assisting GM with interview process
- Perform new hire onboarding functions and maintain existing personnel files, including:
- Maintaining employee records, specifically i-9 and employment eligibility requirements
- Create logins and profiles for new hires in the POS system, scheduling platform, and communication app
- Update and regularly audit list of staff Agent Cards
- Track and maintain accurate records for earned PTO
- Assist in the development of processes that analyze the following:
- Employee performance and sales ability
- Hire & turnover rates
- Scheduling strategy & overtime
- Develop cannabis-related training materials for ongoing staff education, beyond the scope of an introductory course
Required Skills
- Previous experience in a supervisory role at a cannabis dispensary is required, as this position requires the development of advanced cannabis-related training materials
- Have a basic understanding of HR-related processes and procedures
- Have a demonstrable working knowledge of employment & labor laws
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Desire and ability to mediate and effectively resolve employee issues or conflicts as they arise
- Flexible schedule: some night shifts will be required to provide a well-rounded understanding of both AM and PM employee performance
- Additional HR training and certification is a plus
