Basic Purpose:
The Biochemist position is a level II position for an individual with prior laboratory experience. The individual will perform routine and limited non-routine functions to aid in the preparation of and testing of samples.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Prepare samples for analysis using various methods in accordance with ISO standard operating procedures.
- Data handling and report preparation.
- Equipment familiarity preferred but not required (HPLC, LC-MS/MS, GC-MS/MS, ICPMS/MS)
- Perform various microbiological tests for MMJ products such as total plate count, yeast and mold count, ecoli, salmonella, etc.
- Perform various tests for pharmaceutical grade products such as Microbiological Examination of Non Sterile Products, Antimicrobial Effectiveness, Stability, Sterility Test, Environmental Monitoring, etc.
- Work in fast paced, dynamic environment.
- Visit client facilities to perform sampling.
- Evaluate data
An ideal candidate would possess:
- At Minimum a B.S in Bio-Physics, Bio-Chemistry, Micro-Bio, or Chemistry
- At least 2 years of laboratory experience in a relevant field
- Candidates with strong science backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Bio-Physics/ Chemistry/ Micro-Bio or General Lab experience is preferred.
- Must be fluent with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word.
- Familiarization with a wide range of analysis methods, sampling equipment and instrumentation a plus.
- Self-motivated, responsible individual with good communication skills and willingness to learn and progress over time through consistent dedication and training. The position requires the individual to multi-task, be independent/self-sufficient, and be flexible and participate in a team environment.

Job Description: Analyst I
Position Summary:
Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years of laboratory experience required. We are seeking an analytical chemist to work in a high-volume, regulated Cannabis laboratory. The candidate will become proficient in the analysis of samples for cannabinoid concentration, residual solvents and terpenoids using HPLC, GC-FID, LC-Mass Spec 3Q and ICP-MS and GC-MS technology. The candidate must be able to work as part of a team in a high-volume and rapidly evolving workplace. Experience working in a Cannabis laboratory is a plus but we will accept candidates with experience using similar technologies in Environmental, Pharmaceutical or Nutraceutical laboratories.
C4 Laboratories is a cannabis testing lab that empowers patients and businesses with information that’s honest, accurate, and easy to understand so they can make informed decisions. The ideal candidate will have a passion for Cannabis, Patient Safety and Accuracy.
The candidate must be dependable, punctual and maintain positive attitude even in high stress situations; must be willing to work with medical cannabis and industrial hemp and must pass background check and be willing to obtain medical cannabis card (company paid) until background check and state lab agent cards are available.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Schedule sample workflow for preparation and analysis by due date, hold time and turnaround time requirements.
- Perform all initial and continuing calibration requirements for sample analysis.
- Learn and become proficient performing our in-house methods using HPLC, GC/MS, GC-FID and
other techniques as required.
- Review data and final reports for completeness and accuracy.
- Maintain and troubleshoot analytical instrumentation and other laboratory equipment.
- Order supplies as needed, liaison with clients regarding analytical results and any technical issues.
- Assist with other tasks as needed within the company.
- Perform quality work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Perform calibrations for safety equipment and laboratory instrumentation
- Participate in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the laboratory.
- Perform other duties as required.
Areas of Specialization Desired:
- Prior experience working in a regulated laboratory environment (ISO, NELAC, GMP).
· Prior experience working in a cannabis laboratory.
· Prior experience running HPLC, GC or GCMS methods.
Requirements:
· Candidate should have at least a BA/BS in science, such as: Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Environmental Science.
