JOB DESCRIPTION – POST HARVEST MANAGER
DEPARTMENT Floriculture - Post Harvest Department
REPORTS TO: Director of Cultivation
FLSA CLASSICIATION: Non-Exempt

POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Post-Harvest Manager is responsible for personnel management, all post-harvest activity including product quality, efficiencies, inventory organization, drying, trimming, and the testing process. This position is also responsible for pushing performance, setting quality standards, streamlining processes, and overall approval of the final product. The Post-Harvest Manager will interact with various department leaders including cultivation, sales, procurement, and Metrc, while reporting daily numbers and quality data to the executive team. They will lead continuous improvement efforts in company operations and the overall quality of our products. While cannabis experience is a big advantage, most important is that you have strong team management, good interpersonal cohesion, experience tracking department data, and a knack for implementing efficiencies through our post-harvest process.
JOB DUTIES:
- Responsible for all post-harvest departments, associates, and processes including dry-cure, trim, bucking, sorting, and packaging departments.
- Provide updates to Sales, CEO and Operations Executives regarding product quality and amounts and be available to provide updates in real-time.
- Maintaining an up-to-date Post Harvest schedule and guiding current batches through the process.
- Responsible for reporting on Inventory to management.
- Manage all inventory of harvested cannabis material through the post-harvest process, including dry-cure, trim, bucking, sorting and packaging departments.
- Maintain Post Harvest productivity tracking system through each stage of the process to measure efficiency, performance, and report on success.
- Responsible for contacting testing lab and scheduling a pickup for testing.
- Manage all personnel schedules, training and development, and daily activities and quotas.
- Follow all rules and regulations for harvest and inventory management including wet weight measurements, dry weight measurements, and harvest batch requirements as set forth by the State of California regulations.
- Ensure that all finished cannabis is being packaged according to our standard labeling requirements, being reported appropriately in our track and trace systems (METRC), and being communicated to the larger
- Interact and work with Sales, Cultivation, Metric, Procurement, Operations and any or all departments to improve processes & implement efficiencies.
- Manage all equipment including maintenance schedules, repairs, and acquisition.
- Responsible for final product quality check
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- 2-3 years of previous post-harvest cannabis experience is ideal; though we will consider those with strong management backgrounds in agricultural postproduction management, or in a manufacturing/processing environment.
- 3-5 years of managerial experience minimum.
- Must have strong understanding of processes and following SOP’s.
- Experience implementing new SOP’s and efficiencies with team
- Demonstrates a continuous improvement mindset through kaizen and other continuous improvement processes.
- Demonstrated team leadership and development skills
- Demonstrated sense of urgency and ability to meet production schedules.
- Must be up to date with industry technologies.
- Excellent leadership, communication skills, and driving team excellence.
- Ability to prioritize in a fast and constantly evolving environment.
- Ability to pass a DOJ live scan
- Must be 21+ years of age

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 50 lbs. to a maximum height of 5 ft and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum of 50feet with or without assistance.
- Must be able to work seated/standing as appropriate at workstations for extended periods of time, maintain body equilibrium while stopping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching, and use hands and fingers to hold, grasp, turn, pick, pinch, frequently to constantly to complete tasks.
- Must be able to handle organic matter daily, able to wear PPE as needed (eye, face, hand, arm, head, foot, body, fall protection) and be able to be exposed to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions while wearing PPE.
- Must have visual acuity with /without job aids to perform activities such as reading, viewing a computer terminal, visual inspection involving small details/parts. Clarity of vision at 20 ft. or more in day and night/dark conditions.
- Must be able to speak and communicate verbally at conversation levels with co-workers, vendors, etc. (moderate noise).
