A DAY IN THE LIFE
Enthalpy Analytical, part of the larger organization, Montrose Environmental Group, is comprised of 10 laboratories performing air, water, soil, tobacco,
cannabis, and toxicology testing. Regulations drive the need for our services, but our unique capabilities allow us to add value to clients beyond environmental compliance.
The Technical Director is the laboratory’s lead analytical and technical resource, responsible for improving procedures and implementing new technologies to meet quality standards and client requirements, reducing costs, and maximizing operating efficiencies by effectively managing and developing available technology solutions. They will also improve efficiencies by minimizing down-time and maximizing instrument through-put and assisting the Group Leaders in training staff to operate new and existing analytical equipment.

Job Responsibilities - This role will be responsible for a full range of activities including:
- Position is the laboratory’s lead test & measurements technical resource, responsible for improving procedures and implementation of new technologies to reduce costs, and maximize operating efficiencies by effectively managing and developing available technology solutions.
- Improve efficiencies by minimizing down-time and maximizing instrument through-put and assisting the Group Leaders in training staff to operate new & existing test and measurement equipment.
- Responsible for production of all Departments by ensuring timely and profitable production of chemical measurement services
- Responsible for technical data review utilizing Laboratory Information System.
- Assist the Group Leaders in training staff to operate new and existing test and measurement equipment
- Coordinate work scheduling and laboratory resource allocation
- Meet TAT, financial, and quality objectives
- Supervise and manage adherence to QA/QC, hold time and turnaround requirements
- Assign and clearly communicating operational priorities
- Allocate lab resources to meet client schedule & requirements
- Supervise Group Leaders, supervisors, and staff
- Assist with and conducting employee performance reviews and audits
- Projecting staffing needs: hiring and firing staff
- Other duties, as assigned by Laboratory Director
Minimum Qualifications

- BA/BS in Chemistry or Science required. Master’s or PhD degree is a plus.
- EPA, 40CFR and NELAC expertise or background is a plus
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in a laboratory testing environment
- The Technical Director must meet the requirements of the accrediting body(ies) of the laboratory
