Cannabis Senior Dental Dispensary Assistant School Dentistry Jobs

UTHealth School of Dentistry is hiring for a Senior Dental Dispensary Assistant (Sr. DDA) to join their team of professionals. The Sr. DDA will be responsible for: Overseeing day to day sterilization activities including daily test and documentation, equipment maintenance schedule, and equipment sterilization projections; managing supplies and materials; and all human resource activities related to central sterilization. Prior people management, large scale sterilization experience, and experience with barcode scanners and printing are all a plus!

Position Summary:

Provides advanced skills in dental dispensary operations, central sterilization operations and patient care. Serves as a team leader and oversees operations of the work area in the absence of the supervisor.

Position Key Accountabilities:

• Cleans, disinfects, packages and sterilizes dental and surgical instruments.

• Orders and dispenses instruments, dental materials and supplies to students and faculty.

• Sets up sterile instrument trays for surgical procedures.

• Operates ultrasonic cleaners and sterilizers.

• Maintains inventory level and records.

• Assists in periodic or annual inventory as required.

• Maintains security of University property in work areas.

• Ensures proper utilization and compliance with clinic equipment loan policies.

• Provides follow-up on all loaned equipment.

• Makes recommendation to supervisor regarding individual inventory levels.

• Monitors and rotates expendable supplies to ensure proper shelf life and compliance with expiration dates as needed.

• Assures that staff performs all duties in compliance with departmental and University policy.

• May oversee operations of the work area in absence of the supervisor and serves as a team leader.

• May manage Human Resources activities for direct reports in regards to: recruiting and selection, hiring and termination, training, professional development, mentoring, counseling, performance evaluations, and salary planning

• Performs other duties assigned.

Certification/Skills:

Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRST) required.
Basic computer skills required.

Minimum Education:

High School diploma or equivalent.

Minimum Experience:

Two (2) years of experience as a Central Service Technician, Dental Assistant or Dental Dispensary Assistant.

Physical Requirements:

Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
