Research Intern
The Research Intern is obsessed with data. Learning new things is like fuel, no matter the subject. Be it looking into demographic data for cities and neighborhoods, investigating cannabis legislation, or getting quotes from vendors, the Research Intern is fascinated by data and knowledge. They love sharing what they’ve learned, and understand how to present and synthesize findings in digestible ways. Our ideal candidate is highly organized, passionate about urban planning, and excited by challenging preconceived notions.
This job entails
- Researching neighborhoods, developments, cities, and legislation
- Synthesizing data into accurate findings
- Assisting the design and layout of presentation decks
- Providing office and clerical support to the CEO and the team
- Scheduling meetings
- Writing briefs and building out schedules
- Organizational support
- Project support as needed
- Taking notes during client calls or meetings
- Pulling quotes from multiple vendors for projects
Qualifications
- A grad student or a college Junior or Senior
- Must have strong communication skills, and highly organized
- Must demonstrate production competencies: accountability for results, team effectiveness, developing others, attention to detail, flexibility and professional confidence
- You’ve mastered Google Drive, Microsoft Suite, and social media platforms

The Research Assistant Intern (RA) provides research support tasks across a broad range of domestic policy and social program issues including: (1) Children and Families issues, especially as related to low-income populations; (2) Cannabis legalization, (3) Crime policy; (4) Education and Labor, including training and workforce development; (5) Behavioral Health Services, including health workforce and public health;
- Excellent qualitative and quantitative data research skills. Must be able to perform impact analysis and provide recommendations for programming and policy development.
- Good command of English grammar - ability to communicate with people with diverse educational and professional backgrounds
- Write reports and technical memoranda that are clear, concise, and of varying length
- Proficient in Microsoft office suites
- Passionate about social justice
- Able to adhere to deadlines and work in a virtual environment
Education:
Master level or above in a social science or statistics
The internship will pay $1000 stipend per semester with the possibilities of an increase based upon performance and contract awards.
