Full Job Description

We are seeking a Cannabis Accounting Guru to help us manage our outsourced cannabis accounting services. This position will require someone to function at a controller level and be flexible enough to jump in where needed on the team. Our team is headquartered in Phoenix, AZ but we are open to remote applicants.

You will be responsible for:

• Review of monthly close to audit level standardsAll the things (i.e. data entry, journal entries, client & team inquiries)
• Being the liaison between internal staff and client staff to resolve discrepanciesIdentifying areas of improvement with respect to internal controls and/or efficiencies
• Lead team members to ensure deadlines are achievedImplementing accounting software for new & existing clients
• Being a subject matter expert in the Cannabis Industry
• Keeping up to date with key changes in accounting & tax and how it impacts the cannabis industry
• Participate in professional development along with setting personal & professional goals
• Embodying a “can do” & “no job to big/no job to small” attitude

Requirements:

• 5+ years of accounting experience
• 2+ years of cannabis accounting experience
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business

Bonus points if you:

• Have worked with Xero, Sage Intacct, or QuickBooks Enterprise
• Have experience in auditing
• Have implemented new accounting technology
• Have experience running payroll
• Have a sense of humor
