Duties
This position is duty stationed at Redwood National Park in Orick, California in the Resource Management and Science (RMS) Division. The incumbent will be responsible for leading and managing a broad suite of programs related to the physical resources of the park and have responsibility in the following areas:
- Water quality compliance monitoring from ongoing park restoration projects, and long-term monitoring and geomorphic studies of sediment movement within Redwood Creek.
- Design, development, funding, contracting, and implementation of restoration projects to restore degraded park aquatic watershed conditions
- Serve as primary park lead for assessing the potential impact of climate change and sea level rise on park resources.
- Provide substantive review and comment of park operations, plans, compliance, and consultation documents related to the park's physical environment.
- Monitor and comment on timber harvests, county cannabis permits, and developments in the upper Redwood Creek basin that can potentially derogate downstream park aquatic resources.
- Educate, interpret, and provide information on physical resources to visitors and staff.

equivalent to a major (i.e., 24 semester hours) in physical sciences and/or a related engineering science; plus, appropriate experience or additional education.
