Job Responsibilities and Duties
- Ensure compliance with all relevant statutes, regulations, and directives of the PA Medical Marijuana Program
- Verify patient certifications for medication through the PA Department of Health website
- Ensure that dispensed medications are based on patient’s physician recommendation
- Strive for patient satisfaction in all respects and ensure a patient-friendly environment
- Conduct individual patient consultations to determine the best therapy in conjunction with the recommendations made by patient's physician
- Protect patient rights by adhering to HIPAA guidelines and maintaining the confidentiality of medical and financial information
- Remain up to date with company research in connection with the palliative and curative potential of cannabis and its constituent cannabinoid chemicals in order to enhance the pharmacological understanding and medicinal value of cannabis and its potential to alleviative effects on symptoms and debilitating conditions
- Understand how different patients or their debilitating illnesses interact with specific cannabis properties, brands, strains, dosages, potencies, and forms of delivery
- Participate in physician and provider outreach and education programs
Required Experience, Education and Skills
Current state licensure to practice pharmacy is required.
- Master’s degree in Pharmacy required (Doctorate/Pharm.D. preferred).
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office a must.
- Clinical or research experience a plus.
- High Energy, Patient Focused
- Retail experience preferred
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with employees, management, patients, governmental agencies, community members and the public
Understanding of applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations as they pertain to the industry, personnel law, safety regulations, local municipal codes and organizational rules, regulations, directives, and standard operating procedures
Additional Requirements
- Must be 21 years or older
- Must pass all required background checks
- Must possess valid driver's license or state ID
- Must be and remain compliant with all legal and company regulations for working in the industry
- Must be able to lift, carry, and balance up to thirty pounds (one hundred pounds with assistance). This job function may include walking or standing for extended periods of time, as well as stooping, bending over, and/or crouching.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Become proficient with the point of sale system (MJ Freeway)
- Review and assist in receiving all deliveries with diligence and accuracy and in accordance with company and state regulations
- Create effective organization and information gathering for all inventory regarding special patient orders, employee patient samples and weekly deals
- Track various sales metrics on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
- Regularly train staff according to company guidelines, conduct performance reviews, and establish performance improvement plans
- Responsible for resolving all employee and patient-related conflicts and issues
- Assist in conducting nightly and monthly inventory audits in accordance with company and state guidelines to ensure there is no diversion of inventory, and effectively respond to discrepancies.
- Prepare and effectively lead state inspectors through unannounced inspections
- Maintain records for all necessary documents: delivery and inventory manifests, nightly and monthly inventory counts, necessary employee, and patient/customer information, log books, inventory adjustments, and destruction reports
- Ensure compliance with all PA Medical Marijuana Program rules and regulations
Requirements:
- Must be a Registered Pharmacist in the state of Pennsylvania, with an active unrestricted license in good standing
- Must complete the Pennsylvania Department of Health 4-Hour CME Course: http://www.medicalmarijuana.pa.gov/
- Subject to background check per state cannabis regulations
- 3+ Management experience required
- 2+ years of retail management experience preferred
- Must be proficient with computers and POS systems
- Working knowledge of inventory and sales reports
- Proven organizational skills
- Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
- Leadership and interpersonal skills
