The Position
The People & Compliance Manager will support the executive team on a day-to-day basis to effectively implement all personnel policies and procedures for the company. This role will be a core member of the management team and must possess strong leadership, organization and communication skills. The P&C Manager will champion our organization's principles and values to spearhead the recruiting, hiring, and development of our most important resource, our people.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Oversee and administer recruiting, hiring, and onboarding of staff
- Develop and implement training and performance management policies for staff in consultation with the executive team and department managers
- Ensure compliance with all industry and workplace policy laws, regulations and requirements
Additional Responsibilities & Requirements:
- Establish yourself as the ‘go to’ HR person for managers and employees and respond to employee inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs
- Liaise with other departmental heads to ensure that all business operations are in line with business policies
- Review and revise personnel and compliance policies and procedures in consultation with the executive team and department managers
- Support all recruiting efforts by crafting job descriptions, posting open positions to job boards, screening candidates and coordinating interviews
- Conduct investigations, recommend actions and escalate matters to senior management as appropriate to effectively resolve employee relations issues and policy violations
- Maintain employee files and manage HR administration, including payroll processing, benefit enrollment, workers compensation, and leave requests
- Own and execute the termination process, including ensuring final pay and paperwork is issued in compliance and conducting exit interviews
- Track and prepare reports for various HR KPIs such as attendance, employee headcount, turnover and time to hire
- Be responsible for such additional human resources tasks as determined by the executive management team
Qualifications
- A passion for high growth industries and startup environment
- 3+ years of HR experience
- Must be self directing, have strong work ethic and pay great attention to detail
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Organizational skills
- Comfortable handling confidential information
- Proficient in productivity software (GSuite, Word, Excel, etc)
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
Additional Requirements
- Must be 21 years or older
- Must possess a valid driver’s license or state ID
- Must be able to pass all required background checks
- Ability to work days, nights, holidays and weekends
- Compliance with all regulatory and company requirements for working in the cannabis industry

- Commensurate with experience
