The Role
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Planner is to determine how a specific job will be performed and who will perform which activities for our large manufacturing sites at Green Thumb. The Maintenance Planner is responsible for facilitating communication between production departments and maintenance departments.? As the Maintenance Planner the individual is also responsible for the development and control of the Maintenance Weekly Work Schedules, including balancing the workload with the available resources.? Responsibilities
- Work with plant teams and maintenance personnel in identifying and planning work
- Plan and identify work including ordering of parts and planning the execution of work
- Coach and develop area maintenance and other personnel in preventive/predictive maintenance principles and concepts
- Assist with planning and implementation of preventive and predictive maintenance procedures on key processing equipment
- Review work orders to ensure work is completed in a satisfactory manner and ensure employee performance in work completed
- Understand and utilize Total Productive Manufacturing (TPM) concepts to drive continuous improvement and finished product conformance to requirements and coach and develop employee skills in these areas
- Coordinate, develop and update Work Schedules to ensure an accurate product for use in effective planning, resource allocation, parts acquisition, and schedule execution
- Develop detailed, accurate and usable schedules and reports to provide effective management tools for execution and feedback
- Attend scheduling meetings to ensure pre-planning, implementation, and schedule critiques are effective in developing continuous product improvement
- Assist in the development of work windows and contingency plans, by working with Work Week Supervisors, Maintenance Manager, Project Managers and Reliability Engineers
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Additional Responsibilities
- Develop an understanding of equipment and machinery in operations in order to serve as a resource to team members for preventive maintenance guidelines as well as unanticipated machinery breakdowns.
- Occasionally supervise hourly maintenance personnel
- Solve and participate to implement long term solutions to maintenance reliability issues
- Track maintenance personnel performance and workloads, investigate performance issues, and outline cases of disciplinary action as required
- Coordinates and interacts with outside vendors to support business needs and objectives, including unsatisfactory quality or service items
- Work with suppliers to upgrade or improve existing equipment, test new technology
- Prepares and distribute monthly metric reports
- Help determine training needs of maintenance employees; help facilitate set up and schedule of training as necessary
- Conduct regular meetings with employees to discuss safety, quality, projects, and communicate initiatives
Qualifications
- Degree in Engineering Field or Equivalent Experience
- 5-7 years’ experience in similar role in industrial manufacturing related industry
- Minimum 2 years preventive and predictive maintenance experience
- Lean manufacturing experience/certification preferred
- In-depth experience with CMMS systems.
- Advanced computer skills
- Considerable tact and human relations skills in interacting with all levels of management and plant employees
- Good problem-solving and negotiating skills
- Highly motivated, self-directed, innovative, and able to work independently or among teams with keen judgement, common sense and resourcefulness
- Adapts and thrives in a demanding, fast-paced environment
- Possesses a high level of critical thinking
- Operates with a high level of professionalism and integrity, including dealing with confidential information
- Must understand and comply with the rules, regulations, policies, and procedures of Green Thumb
- Must have a solid understanding of the Cannabis laws, rules and regulations and passion to further their understanding and knowledge of the industry and the laws.
