Zenbarn is poised to become one of Vermont's first dispensary to open in October. This role will play a key position in developing a premier destination for craft cannabis and building a social impact brand. We are more than just a dispensary. We own and operate a music and events venue in addition to the dispensary, have a CBD brand and are launching a job training program supporting BIPOC people to get into the cannabis industry. We are very involved in our community and are activists for social justice and equity.
The Dispensary Manager will be a dynamic and thoughtful leader who oversees the daily operation of the dispensary, handling the needs of customers and developing a professional team that is passionate about cannabis and customer service. The DM also works with the team to ensure the facility's sound record-keeping and compliance with local and state regulations. Priorities include the implementation of dispensary policies, oversight and management of quality product inventory and the hiring, development and supervision of dispensary staff. The DM is also responsible for overseeing marketing, promotions and the maintenance of reports as they pertain to the daily operations and financials of the dispensary.
Job Functions
- Ensure the dispensary's compliance with security, inventory and local and state regulations
- Manage and inspire internal staff to deliver the highest level of customer service
- Ensure the safety and satisfaction of every customer and employee
- Responsible for providing a high level of education and development for staff pertaining to cannabis strains, edibles, concentrates and consumption mechanisms
- Create budgets and forecast sales based on principles of retail business and experience
- Set sales, service, and profit goals and lead staff to exceed them
- Work closely with partners and suppliers to procure an adequate supply of quality products
- Fulfill staffing needs and coordinate scheduling
- Communicate with and coach staff on a regular basis to ensure the dispensary's excellence in service and labor practices within the community
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Develop operations plans and implement and manage dispensary policies and procedures
- Document financial, Inventory and customer trends; maintain sales and purchasing reports
- Manage and maintain dispensary sales and inventory management software
Qualifications
- Demonstrated commitment to social justice and equity
- Bachelor’s (Master's Preferred) in Business or related experience
- Five years of experience in a retail management environment
- Excellent customer communication and service skills
- Strong interpersonal communication and conflict resolution skills
- Passionate about serving the VT cannabis community
- Basic accounting, math and computer skills
- Must be willing to work weekends
- Prior experience within the cannabis community and/or health and wellness industries is a plus
- Must have sense of humor and be a team player

We are looking for a Retail Sales Representative to provide excellent customer service and meet sales quotas for our retail store selling CBD and other cannabis-based products with plans to become a cannabis dispensary in October 2022. Candidates with strong communication skills who can make customers feel welcome in our store will stand out. You will help identify client needs, present and answer questions about our products and services and recommend solutions. Ultimately, you will ensure that customers leave our store satisfied and you will contribute to the store’s profitability. We are looking for a professional Sous Chef to be the second in command in our kitchen, following our Executive Chef’s specifications and guidelines creating fresh, flavorful dishes from scratch in our casual farm-to-table restaurant and helping to develop cannabis menus and products.
We are also a busy event/music venue that has a great local following. The menu and overall theme have recently underwent an overhaul with an eclectic menu with a global street food theme and farm to table focus. We work with many local farmers who provide us with their specialty products.
Join our tight knit, fun team that works together to create a community experience. This business is already established and has many options for growth coming up! We also specialize in CBD infusions with the food and beverage program in partnership with our sister business Zenbarn Farms.
- 3 to 5 years culinary experience
- Ability to handle pressure during a busy service
