Central West Produce is a well-established and successful sales and farming company, located on California’s scenic central coast. We are proud to be a renowned grower and marketer, with well over 2,000 acres of conventional and organic strawberries, blackberries, blueberries and a variety of vegetables. We continue to strive to produce the highest quality crops while continually developing and implementing farming techniques to ensure continuous growth.
We are currently searching for a Grower Accountant Specialist to join our team in Santa Maria, CA.
Responsibilities & Duties:
· Maintain accurate daily juice/freezer ticket inventory for multiple processor locations.
· Manage the daily accounting functions necessary to produce our growers’ sales statements and proceed payments.
· Verify processor statements, check for accurateness, analyze and dispute discrepancies, confirm receipt of payment, and verify correct rate paid.
· Process payments utilizing a variety of methods; check, wires, and credit cards.
· High volume data entry in excel
· Manage internal billing procedure and verify for accuracy, analyze billing discrepancies, and follow up
· Responsible for grower accounting/funding invoice coding and cost allocation
· Maintain all grower advances and loans agreements. Reconciling loan ledgers and auditing all loan documentation.
· Process payments for grower advances, payables and complete appropriate paperwork
· Assist in month end reporting procedures and grower reconciliation.
· Communicate with other departments, coworkers, customers; respond to processor/grower inquiries in a professional manner.
Requirements:
· Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively and professionally in a team environment and one on one with coworkers, supervisors, and vendors/customers/growers.
· Ability to perform mathematical computations in excel and on paper, such as percentages, fractions, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division quickly and accurately.
· Self-motivated, with high and precise attention to detail, takes pride in their quality of work, and reliable.
· Strong problem-solving skills, basic accounting principles knowledge, research and resolution kills.
· Ability to adapt to changing requirements.
· Capable of prioritizing workflow and multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
· Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
· Ability to read, understand and follow through on verbal and written instructions.

Responsibilities
- Grow existing accounts by fostering long-term relationships with retail buyers
- Manage and address customer needs and issues

Qualifications
- 1-3 years of experience account management is preferred
- Great organizational and time management skills

- Able to work independently and have strong follow-through
- Must have valid driver’s license and vehicle to travel to customers on a daily basis.
Compensation
- Salary Range from 40k to 70k varying by experience
- Bonus Structure to reward individual and company achievements
