Grower Relations Representative

JOB SUMMARY: Cultivate, develop, and maintain relationships with hazelnut growers throughout the Willamette Valley.

Job Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To The Following:

• Assist in sourcing hazelnuts from growers throughout the Oregon and Washington, with the Willamette Valley being primary focus
• Visit Perspective growers and discuss HGO’s position in the industry
• Develop strong working relationships with hazelnut growers through on-site orchard visits, industry events, and grower events
• Maintain accurate information pertaining to each grower that supplies hazelnuts to HGO
• Aid in annual crop forecasting based on information from the field, growers, and historical data
• Work with Grower Relations Manager to plan annual grower functions for specific areas of the Willamette Valley
• Provide backup/Assist in picking up grower samples from wash plants deliver to HGO plant. Assist in delivering grower samples to designated labs
• Assist/provide information on annual grower guide (Harvest), Wash plant guide, quarterly grower newsletters
• Daily travel required through the Willamette Valley with limited overnight travel
• Work collaboratively with the operations department for receiving of hazelnuts during season
• Track grower visits weekly

Special Skills/Training

• Ability to work in a team environment in a positive manner of respect, cooperation & flexibility.
• Good work ethic and ability to work independently.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Clean driving record
• Strong organizational skills
• Knowledge of GAP (Good Agriculture Practices)
• Experience working directly with farmers is strongly preferred

Experience/Education

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• BS in Agricultural Business, Plant Science, or Business Administration preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Able to lift 50 pounds repeatedly.
• Prolonged standing and walking.

Working Conditions

• Mostly outside work calling on customers.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $52,000.00 - $57,000.00 per year
