Job Description
The Cannabis Industry Associate reports directly to the manager of their daily department, which could be Cultivation, Post Harvest, Fulfillment, or all three. The Associate is responsible for assisting with all aspects of cultivation and post-harvest, from seedling to harvest to delivery of goods sold. The Associate must have basic knowledge and passion for cannabis and must adhere to the policies and procedures of Galenas, while ensuring compliance with all state and local laws and regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain a clean environment, including removing and disposing all cannabis waste and sanitizing all equipment
- Assist with post-harvest plant processes as needed, including bucking, trimming, and packaging
- Understand and apply fundamental principles of Galenas SOP's (Standard Operating Procedures) in a practical manner
- Assist with cultivation plant health and maintenance schedule, including crop inspections and watering/feeding
- Perform all other tasks set by management in a safe and efficient manner
Skills
- Proven ability to perform tasks as directed at an exceptional level
- Advanced attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Initiative to learn and train others
- Successful at conflict resolution while working with a cross-functional team, demonstrating collaborative abilities
Experience
- Minimum 2 years experience in any part-time or full-time role
- Work in farming/agriculture/greenhouse/marijuana preferred, but not required
Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Must be able to pass background check
- Must work as a team player with a positive attitude
- Ability to communicate clearly and accurately
- Willingness to perform repetitive tasks
- Ability to lift, push, and pull 25 pounds
- Ability to sit, squat, stand, bend, and kneel repeatedly
- Wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) - such as hairnets, facemasks, etc. - and abide by personal hygiene standards at all times to avoid medicinal contamination
- Must be able to multi-task and work quickly and efficiently to meet or exceed production needs
Education
- High School diploma (or equivalent) required; Higher Education experience strongly preferred
