POSITION SUMMARY: This is a technical position responsible for the execution of data entry, data collection, and database integration and reporting functions. Priorities include management of daily Maryland Medical Cannabis Commission sample intake processes, data collection workbooks, and mining of offline Stability Test data for reporting. The Intake Technician will also assist in the research, design, development and implementation of future system enhancements and integrations. Daily work involves the routine and repetitive management of sample information to accommodate lab procedures and data analysis, in addition to supporting larger data projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Serves as sample intake processor; ensures Field Samplers have followed the appropriate procedures and that all paperwork is complete and legible
- Provides for the collection, storage, and review of Sampler Chain of Custody Forms and Customer PDF Manifests for processing and compliance records
- Creates and populates spreadsheets with sample and prep data for entry into the Maryland Medical Cannabis Commission’s (MMCC) Metrc system; ensures records are completed in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner
- Helps to develop, implement, and maintain other internal or external applications (ie. Sample Management, Inventory Tracking, LIMS)
- Extends existing data applications as needed to support dynamic corporate growth and industry compliance requirements; provides workflow relief on other system processes as needed
- Provides in lab support for application system development, special customer projects, and/or to assist other teammates on an as needed basis.
- Assists in the research, collection and processing of data/information for various special projects
- Ensures confidentiality and security of sensitive data and report information
- Responsible for other job-related duties as assigned
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
General Knowledge/Abilities
- Advanced knowledge of modern office practices and use of the Microsoft Office Suite and VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) for Word and Excel
- Average typing speed of 30 to 40 words per minute with an ability to perform large quantities of data entry with minimal errors
- Ability to use concepts such as fractions, percentages, and ratios; with demonstrated abilities in data processing, troubleshooting and problem-solving
- High level communication and presentation skills; ability to build relationships and strengthen partnerships with a strong focus on customer service and teamwork
- Ability to function independently, have personal integrity, flexibility and the ability to work effectively with fellow employees
- Experience in driving tasks and meeting deadlines; accountable for the completion of assigned goals and objectives
- Ability to fluently speak and read the English language along with understanding and following both written and verbal direction
Education, Licenses/Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Science or a related field from an accredited college or university
