Full Job Description
Summary
The HR Business Partner is responsible for administering the employee lifecycle for Justice Cannabis Co. (JCC) Team Members. This includes accountability for HRIS system entry, maintenance of HR/Benefits systems, and ensuring the company has all necessary documentation and acknowledgements supporting employment actions. This position also serves as a consultative partner to the JCC Management and Supervisor Team on employee relations matters; and, is a key part of the organization’s training team.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
HR Policy and Compliance
- Assists in ensuring company compliance with policies, procedures, and practices for human resource management
- Ensures the company is fully compliant with local, state, and federal regulations governing the employee lifecycle and employment actions
- Assists in the development and implementation of human resource policies
- Directs Managers and Team Members in the administration of employee actions to ensure required documentation and approvals are received and retained within Team Member files
HRIS/Benefits Administration
- Administers employee transactions for the HRIS Systems including additions, terminations, and changes
- Assists in administering employee workflows via the company’s HRIS
- Administers employee benefit plans in collaboration with the Justice Grown Broker Team including plan additions, terminations, and changes
- Ensures all documentation supporting employee benefits transactions is retained in the appropriate employee file
- Collaborates with employees to ensure they get the most from their benefits package; and, understand the tools and resources available to them for personal health and wellness
- Completes new hire benefits enrollments for all company staff to ensure they are enrolled in both employee and company paid benefits and coverage
- Ensures all terminated employees are properly administered in the COBRA management system
General HR Responsibilities
- Assists in recruiting both full-time and seasonal staff for all JCC sites
- Conducts employee onboarding including basic training/development modules aimed at helping our new team members understand company culture, conduct, and other key items
- Provides problem solving and troubleshooting support to employees on various HR-related topics (pay, vacation, benefits, etc.)
- Supports managers in the administration of employee performance
- Maintaining employee files and records in electronic and paper form; and,
- Supporting on-going employee relations activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelors in Human Resource Management (Masters Degree Preferred)
- PHR Certification preferred
- 5 or more years of experience in an HR Coordinator/Administrator role
- 5 or more years of experience administering employee benefits
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent judgment and creative problem-solving skills including negotiation and conflict resolution.
Computers and Technology
- Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, Teams
- Knowledge of system administration for data based systems
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position does not include supervisor responsibilities.
