Employee Services Associate
Overview The HR Employee Service Associate is the primary point of contact for the Department of Human Resource’s (DHR) Employee Services operation and maintains the front office of DHR. Employee Services is focused on being a resource to employees regarding their HR needs, providing guidance on how to engage in HR processes, completing paperwork, managing personal information, finding HR related information and identifying an HR point of contact where employee needs require support from a specialist. Services are provided via phone, email and in person. The Employee Service Associate will have high level knowledge about all functional areas of HR and will refer employees to the appropriate HR point of contact for any needs that are outside of the scope of Employee Services. As the face of DHR, this position will also be responsible for DHR’s reception duties including notifying staff when appoints have arrived, taking messages, forwarding calls and attending to the department’s central email box.
The Opportunity
- Maintains the front office operations. Opens and closes the front office. Receives incoming inquiries as the first point of contact for DHR and Employee Services. Performs reception duties.
- Main point of contact for Employee Services, providing introductory support to employees, sharing information about DHR programs and providing guidance on how employees can engage in processes.
- Interprets employee questions and inquiries to help identify solutions and/or the appropriate services for individual employee needs. Redirects employees to HR divisions where support is needed outside of Employee Services. Escalates questions and concerns as appropriate.
- Receives paperwork. Checks paperwork for completeness and provides guidance to ensure that all items received by DHR are complete and actionable.
- Partners with DHR divisions to maintain and keep information up-to-date in Employee Services as provided by the divisions.
- Maintaining the front office, ensuring that supplies are stocked, displays are organized and all required information about employee services are readily available.
- Supports miscellaneous projects and adhoc administrative needs in DHR as appropriate.
- Performs related work as required.
The Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate should have a background in customer service and is excited to help their client base (our valued employees) get the HR resources they need and help them resolve issues that they encounter along the way. The candidate for this position is a champion for HR programs and is driven to promote them as a part of what Employee Services offers to our employees. Candidates must have experience in customer service. Experience understanding and communicating about human resources programs is a plus. Must enjoy working in roles where they help people, are motivated to find solutions to problems and have a keen ability to know when to escalate issues as appropriate.

Minimum & Additional Requirements
Associates Degree and one year of relevant experience; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
Three years of experience working in an HR department.
