Cannabis Director Health Promotion Sexual Respect Jobs

Overview: Engages in social and environmental strategies and interventions which enhance student health and wellbeing at the community, policy, and individual levels.Collectively engages, plans, and coordinates cross-functional connections and collaborations to advance health and wellbeing across the Macalester campus. Leads specific initiatives related to sexual respect and sexual violence prevention, alcohol & other drugs, and the promotion of mental health. As a member of the Hamre Center for Health and Wellness leadership team, partners with Center colleagues to promote a holistic, public health-driven, social justice-oriented approach to student wellbeing.

The Laurie Hamre Center (also referred to as The Health & Wellness (HWC)) offers integrated medical, counseling, disability, health promotion, and sexual violence prevention services and programs for all students and serves as a resource supporting the entire Macalester community’s effort to build a healthy campus. We are dedicated to providing care, support, and connection to resources for students of all identities.
Mission
The mission of the Laurie Hamre Center for Health & Wellness is to create a healthy community by working with students to achieve physical, emotional and social well-being while promoting the value of life-long learning and health.
Responsibilities:

• Directs, designs, coordinates, implements, and evaluates evidence-based student health promotion initiatives and strategies. Key areas include: mental health as part of Macalester's commitment to a JED Campus strategic plan, AOD, sexual health and sexual respect, infectious disease prevention, and general well-being. Closely collaborates with campus partners in residential life, orientation, student government, athletics, leadership & engagement, conduct, etc.
• Leads campus efforts on sexual health & sexual respect/sexual violence prevention. Serves as a key member of the implementation team of a $300,000 Department of Justice Office of Violence Against Women grant, which prioritizes centering students traditionally de-centered in this work (BIPOC students, LGBTQIA+ students, international students, students with disabilities). Ensure NCAA Board of Governors and State of Minnesota compliance with sexual respect work.
• Serve as Maclester's primary leader in coordinating efforts related to alcohol & other drug prevention. Creates and co-leads an interdisciplinary alcohol and other drug advisory committee. Provides evidence-based policy recommendations and programing, including early intervention consultation to students (e.g. BASICS, MI for cannabis) and conducts the federally required DFSCA Biennial Review.
• Supervises two master's level health promotion specialists, graduate interns, and mentors
• student employees, peer educators, and student advisory groups who work to advance the health of the campus.
• Provides timely and responsive outreach to students as a member of the Campus Response Team (including regular on-call duty rotation) and Case Management Team. The Director also may assist students with a variety academic and personal concerns, including managing collegiate expectations inside and outside of the classroom.
• Coordinates assessment and program evaluation efforts within the Hamre Center and in collaboration with Institutional Research and Assessment. Collects, analyzes, and disseminates various types of data.
• Develops and participates in campus and community partnerships that advance public health; including advocating for policies that address health issues. Advances initiatives identified through Macalester's current strategic planning process related to the theme of flourishing and joy.
• Serve as a key member of the interdisciplinary leadership team of the Hamre Health & Wellness Center

Qualifications: Qualifications:

• 5+ years of prior experience in college health, health promotion, or public health
• Master's degree in health promotion, education, public health or related field; knowledge of health behavior change theories;
• Assessment and program evaluation; able to analyze quantitative and qualitative data, best practices, theories and develop appropriate policies and interventions. .
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate and create relationships across departments and with various stakeholders.
• Appreciation for and ability to mentor emerging adults in developmentally-appropriate ways
• Strong leadership, collaboration, and interpersonal skills required to support the health and wellness needs of a diverse community. Stays current in the related fields and maintains active professional engagement with professional organizations such as ACHA, NASPA, ACPA, etc.
• Demonstrated commitment to equity, inclusion, and diversity. Actively engages in learning and practicing principles of social justice and inclusion to increase individual capacity to support institutional changes that create and sustain a more welcoming and inclusive environment across the Macalester Community.
• Experience supervising professional staff and/or student peer educators

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with grant-related work
• Ability to deliver BASICS and/or MI related interventions for AOD
• Experience serving in an on-call capacity

Compensation & Benefits:
This full-time, 1.0 position offers an annual salary of 77-84k and Macalester’s Benefits Package.
