Cultivation Assistant Job Summary:
We are currently looking for a team player that is both passionate and curious about the cannabis industry. The position operates under the direction of the master grower and is responsible for assisting with all aspects of the indoor cultivation operation including general labor, vegetative, flowering and may assist in monitoring and documenting plant growth.
We are a small caregiver co-op operating under the The Michigan Medical Marihuana Act (MMMA) MCL 333.26423(h).
Core Job Responsibilities:
Works under head grower executing assigned grow operations and projects.
Responsible for plant care in all stages of life-cycle cannabis growth to include germination, vegetative, flowering and harvest.
Monitor environmental controls, assuring conditions are optimized for plant growth, plant health, and maximum yields.
Responsible for increasing operational efficiency and reducing waste through ownership, teamwork, communication and collaboration.
Responsible for maintaining the organization and cleanliness of the various growing rooms while performing all duties.
Participates in inventory activities.
Duties include but not limited to:
Clone, plant, water, fertilize plants and shrubs using hand tools and gardening tools. Harvest plants, transplant or pot and label them. Feel plants leaves and note their coloring to detect the presence of insects or disease. Fill growing tanks with water. Inspect plants to assess quality, identify pests, diseases or infestations and manage the outbreak. Clean work areas and maintain tools in accordance with sanitation standards. Check and water all plants in cultivation facility. Transplanting plants into larger containers as needed. Trimming plants in the vegetative stage and creating clones. Washing pots/trays/lights, etc.
Job Requirements:
Will be required to be on-call and to respond to emergency situations at any time. This may include scheduling issues, potentially covering a vacant shift, facility issues and/ or human resources requirements.

Ability to perform repetitive tasks for long periods of time (i.e., trimming plants, potting, and regular inventory activities, as needed).
High School Diploma.
Must be 21 years of age.
Subject to background check per state cannabis regulations.
Desired job capabilities (not required):
Previous experience in the recreational/medical cannabis industry.
Associates Degree in Horticulture, Agriculture, related science degree or production in agriculture environment.
Knowledge of Cannabis and knowledge of different strain types.
Knowledgeable of growing methods including micronutrients, beneficial bacteria, and nutrient implementation.
Knowledge of plant diseases, insects, and fungi, as well as plant treatment options.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift up to 50-80 lbs. throughout the duration of the shift.
Endurance in hot & cold environments.
Hand and eye coordination.
