POSITION: Vice President, Grow Operations
REPORTS TO: President
DIRECT REPORTS: Operations Managers, Environmental, Cultivation Staff, Dry/Cure, Trim
BENEFITS OF THIS ROLE: This role will oversee the operations for two separate cultivation facilities. As our geographic footprint expands, the role and responsibilities of this position will also expand creating upward mobility and career trajectory for a motivated individual.
COMPENSATION: $100,000 - $120,000 annually. Competitive package + performance bonus & benefits package (based on skillsets and experience)POSITION SUMMARY: The VP, Grow Operations is accountable for all activities within the four walls of our facilities. This includes all personnel, cultivation activities, quality assurance, packaging, maintenance, and engineering.
Key to this role will be to align the organization, processes, and company culture to final product outcomes. This means consistently creating an extremely high grade of cannabis flower.In addition to normal keep-the-lights-on activities, this role will be heavily involved in project managing any continuous improvement projects within any of the departments named above. A key component to these projects will be to create and manage budgets and ensure that our efforts are completed on time, in full, and within the allotted budget.
The ideal candidate for this position has a background in horticulture or a related field, and experience building and managing teams, developing company culture, and implementing efficient and effective systems.

- Strong working knowledge of LEAN manufacturing principles

- The candidate will also possess knowledge of packaging
- The position requires an organized individual, who is a problem solver and can manage multiple tasks and balance competing priorities
- The candidate must possess strong attention to detail, ability to prioritize and multitask
- The candidate must have ability to be flexible/manage change and work well under pressure
- Candidate must demonstrate integrity and dedication have a positive work attitude and strong work ethic
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Team - Develop and support a competent, motivated team with focus on discipline and efficiency. Ensure that the facility is properly staffed and properly incentivized. Oversee a robust employee career development program and quarterly performance review process. Drive efficiencies through training, time management, and organizational objectives.
- Processes - Use standard work and Management Operating System to facilitate effective, efficient performance and communication. Properly document all mission critical processes,
especially those that have cross-functional communication and interdependencies. Maintain a weekly goal-setting process within the operations department.
- Quality - Extreme focus on product quality and outcomes. The success of our people and operations directly ties to producing high quality, craft, small batch cannabis at scale.
- Planning and Management– Set and lead achievement of goals for cultivation department including safety standards, efficiency targets, and yield loss targets. Forecast manufacturing, engineering, cultivation, and packaging labor to create monthly/quarterly budgets. Attend sales and operations planning meetings to ensure that the supply planning process aligns with forecasted demand.
- Regulatory Compliance - Maintain full understanding of all CDFA, BCC, CDPH, OSHA, and other manufacturing regulations and compliance procedures; ensure the facility, organization, and processes are fully compliant.
- Hire, train and manage cultivation personnel.
- Create reports to track inventory and key performance metrics.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Masters or PhD in Horticulture, Plant Sciences, Plant Breeding, or related field.
- 5-7 years of experience managing Cannabis Grow Operation in 24/7 production mode.
