Manager level position. Reports to Chief Operating Officer.

- Pay: $60,000 to $80,000 to start, with opportunities for salary increases based on performance, and meeting KPI’s
Summary: The primary responsibilities of this position are to manage the growing operations from seed, cultivation, harvesting, and extraction by implementing SPC (Statistical Process Control) to set goals and methods, monitor, characterize, and provide a path for incremental improvements. Previous experience managing a marijuana grow facility is a prerequisite.
Essential Duties:
- Manage the day-to-day work of the Horticulturist staff, including: Recruiting, hiring, and training employees. Manage the performance of staff and address performance deficiencies as needed. Enforce Company policies and issue disciplinary actions as needed. Ensure adequate training for staff. Manage departmental logistics and ensure efficient collaboration and coordination between relevant departments.
- Horticultural experience including leading a team of front line growers would be beneficial to succeed in this position. General knowledge in agronomy, plant science, entomology, pathology, and/or plant nutrition a plus.
- Plan, organize, and control production to ensure that goods are produced efficiently, on time, within budget, and to standard.
- Lead the selection of strains to be produced, entering into the state required tracking system tracking data for each medical marijuana plant.
- Manage equipment for environmental controls including, temperature, humidity, light schedules, CO2 enhancement, sensor management, and PLC and data collection, storage, and analysis.
- Manage all aspects of production, including: Plan, implement, and control production schedules; Estimate production costs; Set and manage production budgets; Implement cost control programs; Manage human and material resources to meet production targets; Determine and implement improvements to the production process; Prepare and maintain production reports; Analyze the production data including growth and yield statistics.
- Manage all aspects of quality control, including: Set standards, monitoring compliance to product quality standards and corrective actions. Implement and enforce quality control tracking programs to meet quality objectives. Analyze production and quality control to detect and correct problems.
- Make decisions regarding equipment use, maintenance, modification, and procurement.
- Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures, and health and safety procedures.
- Perform other duties as needed.
- Competency in multiple grow methods including Sea of Green (SOG), Screen of Green (SCROG), as well as living soil, hydroponics or other grow methods. Familiar with irrigation methods such as Argus, Rhythm and Primus.
- Lead and engage the team in open book management and brand harmony supporting a positive company culture.

Schedule:
- Head Growers typically work 50 to 60 hours per week, but manage their own schedule depending on planting and harvests.
- Weekends would be required on an as-needed basis. Director of Grow Operations would be responsible for supervision and managing schedules and shifts
